Big names considered for Dallas movie

Despite the headline to this article which reads "JLo and Travolta set to do Dallas" neither of those actors are officially tied to the movie remake of the popular 1980s primetime soap opera. Director Robert Luketic has offered them roles, however, so it remains to be seen. Travolta would play JR Ewing, while Lopez would play Sue Ellen, his wife. Also in negotiations are Luke Wilson, who would play Bobby (he'd make a great Bobby, actually) and Shirley MacLaine, who would play Miss Ellie, the kind matriarch originally played by the late Barbara Bel Geddes. I'm mildly interested in the casting decisions for this movie, but it's diluted by the fact that this is yet another example of no one being able to come up with an original idea anymore.

But what the heck, let's have fun with it anyway. Who would you pick to play these roles?

I like the idea of remaking Dallas, and I think John Travolta would make a great JR. however I just don't see J Lo as a good fit to play Sue Ellen. Not that she is a terrible actress, I like her and think she is wonderful, but I think they could manage to find a better fit for Travolta, maybe even his real wife...

I wouldnt mind watching this movie. It would be kinda of nostalgic...JLO as the wife???? I don't know but I'll give it a try. I love her in movies. She takes on a whole different persona than that when she sings. I think Jessica Alba would make a PERFECT Pam too!

Ok, someone please shoot me and put me out of my misery right now. No, wait, I didn't mean that. I want to live, but I want a solemn promise from everyone in America that nobody will kidnap me and strap me to a seat and make me watch this movie remake of the TV show Dallas when it comes out!!!! What are they going to do?? I mean we all watched JR get shot, people die, betrayals happen in every married and dating and business relationship on the show. There is nothing left to do except have them all be annhilated by aliens and natural disasters at te same time, thus making the world decimated so badly that any survivors won't be able to reproduce and repoplutae the earth.

Cast Pee Wee Herman as JR at least it will be interesting....
