Bell, Cole, Ruehl latest to sign up for pilots

ruehlCatherine Bell (JAG) and Gary Cole (aka 'Lumbergh' on Office Space) have joined the cast of the CBS pilot Company Town, a drama about government agents who live in the same neighborhood. Already on board for the pilot are Sherry Stringfield (ER) and Blair Underwood (LA Law). You don't have to wait for next fall to see Cole on television, he'll reappear on some of the final episodes of The West Wing.

Mercedes Ruehl has joined the untitled Paul Reiser comedy pilot for CBS, about a man who takes over the family car dealership in Queens, NY. In 1991, Ruehl won an Academy award for her supporting role in The Fisher King. Ruehl joins castmates Bobby Cannavale (Will & Grace) and Hector Elizondo (Chicago Hope).

  • Rena Sofer, ABC's Mr. Nice Guy, a comedy about a well-intentioned guy who always ends up looking bad.
  • Kevin Hart, CBS' The Weekend, a comedy about three friends who live for the weekend.
  • Bruce Davison, ABC's Southern Comfort, a comedy about a nerdy billionaire who returns home.
  • Cheryl White & D.W. Moffett, untitled Kevin Williamson pilot for The CW.
  • John Sloan, FOX's Happy Hour, an Odd Couple-style comedy about roommates.
  • Alexis Cruz, CBS' Shark, a drama starring James Woods as a high profile attorney who becomes a prosecutor.
  • Brendan Hines, FOX's If You Lived Here You'd be Home by Now, a comedy about a group of people living in temporary housing in Los Angeles.
