New season of Sesame Street will kick off a bit later

sesame streetThe word is that Sesame Street will be kicking off its new season a bit later than usual this year. It seems some "in-house matters" have delayed production. I think it's probably Big Bird demanding his own trailer again. I hear he's really hard to work with. Anyway, the show's 37th season kicks off on August 14 and will focus more on "social and emotional growth" than in past seasons. I'm guessing the preschool set isn't too concerned about the delay, since I'm pretty sure they don't realize when they're watching a new show and when they're watching a repeat. For as long as I can remember the show has been an amalgam of old and new footage, which I think is why it seems so timeless. While the show has "evolved" with the times, it's still Muppets and cartoons, and that's all kids really care about.
