The Five: Shows I'd like to see combined

by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 23rd 2006 1:22PM
Paris HiltonSo now we have The Real Housewives of Orange County coming our way. It seems like an obvious (to me anyway) combination of Desperate Housewives and The O.C. It's as if the creators just took two popular TV shows and combined them into one show, hoping that the Hollywood Math would turn 1 hit show 1 hit show = one really big hit show!

This is a great idea though. It would even make being a TV Squad writer easier, since it's so hard to watch everything on TV. Some other combos I'd like to see:
  • CSI: Saturday Night Live. Why not? You have one show doing boffo ratings, and you have one show way past its prime and the butt of jokes. So maybe the cast of SNL can become crime scene investigators (led by Lorne Michaels in the William Peterson role), solving murders that occur at the studio.
  • America's Next Top Medium: Tyra Banks and James Van Praggh co-host this exciting reality show, where the best mediums and psychics compete to see who will win top prize.
  • How I Lost Your Mother: Wacky sitcom set on a deserted island, where a single guy searches the island for the woman of his dreams, while dealing with polar bears, mysterious castaways, and secret hatches.
  • 24 Meals: This is pretty much like Rachael Ray's original, only instead of having only 30 minutes to prepare a meal, she has an entire day. Filmed in real time.
  • Everybody Hates Paris Hilton: This is self-explanatory.

Here's a few I'd like to see.

Aqua Teen Family Guy (Nuff Said!)
Two and a Half Sopranos (I think somebody would get shot every time a smart ass comment is made... That'd probably make me watch more though.)
and
Desperate South Park (Which one would die off every week?)

I wouldn't ordinarily post a reply unless I had something specific to add on a given topic...but in this case, all I have to offer is praise. All five of these were perfect. Huzzah and kudos to you for comedic brilliance.

It's Always Sunny In Las Vegas - The boys from Philly sell the bar and move out west to open a strip club. After the Montesino blows up again, they hire Sam, Delinda, and Mary to dance at the club. Hilarity ensues.
