andre braugher; thiefIt's the last week of March, and there are still a few more new shows for the networks to roll out. Most notably, is Thief, on F/X and starring Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street). Also, NBC is premiering a new sitcom that, if promos are any indication, will sink just as fast as Four Kings. And, WB is premiering a heavily censored version of The Bedford Diaries.

  • Teachers, Tuesdays @ 9:30 pm on NBC (premieres March 28)
    • A comedy about a rule-breaking teacher at a New Jersey middle school.
  • Thief, Tuesdays @ 10 pm on F/X (premieres March 28)
    • Each episode leads up to a big heist. The show is from the point of view of three men: a cop, a thief, and a member of the Chinese mob who is after the thief. Andre Braugher (Homicide) stars.
  • The Bedford Diaries, Wednesdays @ 9 pm on WB (premieres March 29)
    • A drama about NYC college students from different backgrounds who share a provocative Human Behavior and Sexuality seminar.
  • Medium at Large, Wednesdays @ 10 pm on SciFi (premieres March 29)
    • Real-life psychic Cher Margolis talks to regular folks about dead people.
  • Survival of the Richest, Fridays @ 8 pm on WB (premieres March 31)
    • Hal Sparks hosts a reality show where rich kids and working class kids team up and compete in all sorts of tasks that will highlight their social inadequacies.

I wonder if "Teachers" is an American version of the outstanding British comedy.

Also, I prey that Thief is good. Andre Braugher is an outstanding talent who hasn't had a good role, well, since Homicide.

Calling the cuts in The Bedford Diaries "heavily censored" is a bit overkill - it's two very brief scenes, with content that has no similarity to the shows that were recently fined by the FCC. I smell a publicity stunt. The uncensored version is available on their website: http://thewb.warnerbros.com/batg/be_pilot_promo/index.html.
