Prison Break: By the Skin and the Teeth
I think FOX made a big mistake (what else is new?) in putting this show on hiatus for months,
right in the middle of its first season. If the show had continued on with relatively regularly spaced episodes, I
might not be finding these past couple of weeks to be a bit lackluster. We should be on the edges of our seats right
about now, especially with Lincoln supposedly about to die at the conclusion of last week. Is it just me, or are these
episodes just so-so?The conversation between C-Note and Westmoreland brought up a subject I'd wondered since Sucre was interesting in
breaking out. Would these guys really head to their families once they broke out, knowing full well the authorities
would likely be waiting for them there? I'm not really sure what satisfaction they'd get to have maybe a few minutes
with their loved ones before they were either shot dead by the police or taken away for the rest of their lives.
Honestly, unless you have one heck of a plan once you broke out, life (or a few more years) in prison seems a lot
better than running for the rest of your life, possibly living in poverty on the streets, only to eventually be taken
back to prison anyway. As far as I can tell, only Michael and maybe Westmoreland have some sort of plan once they get
out, one that may set them up just fine.
A bit of possible foreshadowning going on with what Michael's told
while at the phych ward. There's mention of using drugs to keep the inmates there in line, and I just felt like there
was a little more emphasis on that tidbit than usual. Might Michael grab sme of that for use later? Seems it might be
pretty easy to do so, though I'm not sure the attending guard(?) at the phych ward will let Michael slide by so easily
next time.
Oh, and did you ever notice how close to the wire Michael always seems to get as far as making it
to the bunk check in time? Come on guys, we were tense the first time, but t's een way too many close calls now.
Next week is definitely an episode that could make up for these past two, as it will focus on the stories
behind the inmates we've come to know and how they got where they are today. T-Bag's story already looks chilling from
the short scene we were treated to.
