Lomond played Captain Monastario, the evil bad guy who tried to capture Zorro on the 1950s series Zorro. He was a veteran of World War II (three Purple Hearts, a silver star and a bronze star) and appeared in several movies and TV shows as well, including Mission: Impossible, I Spy, Simon and Simon, The Waltons, Falcon Crest, and the original Battlestar Galactica. He died in Huntington Beach, CA last week.

He was actually huge in Europe. So much so that the Netherlands issued a stamp two years ago with his picture on it.
