How will How I Met Your Mother end?

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 1st 2006 9:33AM
How I Met Your MotherThe producers and writers of the hit CBS show How I Met Your Mother have already written the last five minutes of the show.

IGN.com has an extensive report from the William S. Paley TV fest, where cast and crew from the show explain how the show came about, how the cast was chosen, and what they want to do with the show. Some cool tidbits: Neil Patrick Harris wasn't sure about his Barney role at first, because the script called for a heavy-set, dark-haired guy in his 30s, like Jack Black. Also: they don't film in front of a live audience, and Angel alum Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof are going to do guest appearances.

Here is my tip on how How I Met Your Mother will end.

1)Robin and Barney, at the end of season6, will sleep together. In season7, they will rekindle their love. And they will be engaged and married at the end of the season.
2) Ted will be the best man for Punchy at the end of season6. The audience will THINK he will meet his girl then and there. He will meet someone. And into season7, they will be dating. But they will break up - throwing the audience off.
3) Barney and Robin will be engaged. Ted will be the 'best man' for BOTH of them. (Remember, he is really nervous about his toast. Why would he be nervous if it was for Punchy? He is nervous because it's two of his best friends.)
4) Ted will meet his girl.
5) There will be a television movie of Ted's wedding.

I had heard about Alex, but not about Amy. That's incredible news, as I think Amy Acker is Steak Sauce.

I'm kind of sad that they don't film infront of an audience, but it makes sense what with all the flashbacks and stops for voiceovers. Hmm. Does it have a laugh track? I can't remember..

Oh and Alex and Amy guest starring.. omg, I may burst from excitement.

Man, I love this show... I hope it gets picked up again.
