Wayne and Aaron come up with some scheme on how to schmooze around the Vice President, who everyone seems to think is the shady character this season, going as far as hiding Wayne's injured left hand when he goes to shake the Veep's hand. He thinks something curious is going on, and it's only natural that we, the viewer, think he's shady due to his actions over the last few hours, especially with regard to martial law. Weren't we in for a surprise, though.Evelyn, Mrs. Logan's assistant, has had her daughter kidnapped by Henderson in retribution for Evelyn's knowledge of what was going on in the White House and who was behind this whole plot to kill Americans. Before getting into the nitty gritty, this makes me really really think that Walt was killed, and didn't kill himself. I could still be totally off base here, but now everything somewhat comes together, leaving only a few possibilities of who knew what, and when. Wow, sounds like reality.
It didn't take too long for Jack & Co. to get down to the body count. As he helps Evelyn with a plan to get her daughter back and try and save the evidence that Henderson so eagerly wants to snag, Jack gets Wayne ready to roll, and the pair take out a few baddies both up close and from afar, including just as the deal goes bad and Henderson calls in the sniper that Jack has replaced - with himself. It was no bloodbath, but you knew Jack had to up the tally at some point.
Back at CTU, Audrey has scammed the Homeland people - sort of - by signing the paperwork that would end Buchanan's reign at CTU, at least for the moment, and has somehow gotten Chloe to be able to stay and work with her. After Chloe is somewhat convinced of Audrey's efforts only being done to save Jack, the two had been working to help Jack find out where Henderson's men were at the drop. I'm feeling better that Audrey isn't behind all of this, at least at this point, but that doesn't mean that something won't come of her mention from Collette's mouth two hours earlier. And if it's not Audrey that's involved, then there is always the chance that her father is in on it, especially now that we know that Gardner isn't at the root of all this, and that President Logan is.
