The Loop: Year of the Dog

The LoopI hated last week's episode of this show. I didn't hate this week's episode. That's sorta like saying you're really sick one day,  and then the next day you feel just a little better. Sure, it's "better," but you still feel queasy and blah and you're not happy. I didn't hate this ep, I disliked it.
Part of this episode was in Chinese, as the airline tries to make a deal with a Chinese company (always good to see James Hong in a guest appearance). I think even more of the episode should have been in a foreign language. Maybe it would have been better. I'll have to catch the repeat though, if only to find out how to say "bros and hos" in Mandarin.

This show involved the above airline deal and the eating of a vital part of the presentation by a dog. Please note that there was a scene were Mimi Rogers takes the dog into the bathroom, makes it yelp and scream and whine, and retrieves the vital part of the presentation, and the day is saved (again). I don't even want to know what she did, though our hero does make a joke about the dog enjoying her "playing around in his rec room." Yeesh.

And the countdown for this show's cancellation continues...

I think every show has their ups and downs, especially newer shows where the characters are still being worked out and developed. However, I do enjoy the mindlessness and humor of this show and I hope it sticks around for a bit. The writing is just strange sometimes, but I think that's why I like it. It's a pretty quick show for the most part and doesn't really spend too much time on "feel good" plot lines that often plague comedies trying to be taken somewhat seriously (Hello? How I Met Your Mother!) with heavy romantic plotlines or just completely boring characters. On a side note, I do love HIMYM - Neil Patrick Harris makes that show.

The Loop is a little weird. But so am I.

It may not be great but Mimi Rogers is hot.

I like The Loop quite a bit, actually. I'm not going to disagree with your opinion of the show, because taste is subjective and all. I do have a question though. If you really don't like this show, why is it assigned to you to do the recaps? Is there nobody on the tvsquad team that likes it? And if the site is going to go with a negative vibe, maybe someone can fill in for Ryan for a week and put the boots to LOST...

i agree with #1, it's something that you dont see in every other sitcom...which doesn't necissarily make it bad. for the most part i think its a pretty good show, something i cant really say for 90% of the comedies on air these days

Based on your overall preferences as garnered from previous posts I'm a bit surprised that you're so down on this show. It's a nice thoughtless break to take from dramas or comedies that make you think. Isn't there room on television for something like this? It has its Conan O'Brien-like moments of humor and sure its just vulgar jokes but that doesn't mean it's not funny. I'd rather have this on the air than the uber-traditional sitcoms with oft-repeated themes.
