Family Guy: Deep Throats
(S05E13) There aren't many shows - ever - that
would make a Scarecrow and Mrs. King joke. One more reason to love this show.Brian gets a job as a cabbie ("It's about time I got a job. For God's sake, I'm seven!"). Peter and Lois find out about the community talent show coming up (long story how they find out - it involves Peter and Brian shooting at Lois' car from the taxi and the car crashing), and decide to bring back their folk band (A Handful Of Peter).
Brian gets a $400 parking ticket for parking in a handicapped spot. Meanwhile, Mayor Adam West goes for a pizza and finds the Domino's Noid in his office. He kills him ("Maybe the Domino's Noid should have avoided me").
Brian is sick of Adam West being corrupt, and decides to investigate him. First step: meet a Deep Throat-ish character in a parking garage (it's Kermit The Frog, prompting Stewie to ask: "What's his appeal?"). Meanwhile, Peter and Lois want some inspiration for their songwriting, so they take some of Brian's weed. Yes, Brian the dog smokes pot.
Brian and Stewie search West's office and find something against him: his datebook. He's going to a motel, so Brian and Stewie rent the room next to him to spy on him. But someone comes in to meet him...it's Meg! Or, as Stewie calls her, "some fat hooker." Adam West is having an affair with teenage intern Meg? Brian and Stewie don disguises to tape their restaurant conversation.
On the other side of town, Peter and Lois are still stoned, imagining rooms filled with giant cookies and cakes.
Brian confronts Meg, who says they're in love. He says he's going to the press with it (this also involves Uncle Sam's large nipples...don't ask). West tells Meg that he doesn't want to ruin her life, so he's breaking off their relationship. Brian sees this and destroys his evidence. At the end of this scene, an obscure reference to a Michael Jackson video involving a taxi and a panther.
Peter and Lois perform at the talent show, dressed in white clothing and robes, with stars and rainbows behind them. Trippy. The crowd loves them, but they lose anyway. Back home, they wonder why they lost if they were so good. But Chris explains that they didn't sound as good as they thought they did. The real story is that they just got up and screamed the song, because they were still stoned out of their minds. Chris tells them that drugs are bad, and Peter and Lois have learned their lesson. The episode ends with Stewie screaming the theme song to Mr. Belvedare.
(Wow, these recaps are bizarre if you don't watch the show, but I guess that 's the way it should be.)
Quote, from Brian, on how he spent his day: "Today I watched a Gwen Stefani marathon on VH-1. I don't know what a Hollabeck Girl is, all I know is that I want her dead."
