Demetri MartinBopping around online I came across two very interesting interviews with comedian Demetri Martin.

In the first one at The Believer, he talks juggling, Conan O'Brien, doing standup for old guys in London, and how riding a unicycle with never get you laid. In the second interview, at Brian Palmer's site, he describes going from law school to comedy, skateboarding, and how he ended up on The Daily Show.

And why'll we're at it, check out some of his standup and Daily Show bits at YouTube.

Amateur night? The guy is 100% creative in a comedy world where the audience often needs humor spelled out for them or the jokes are delivered by some extremely animated overly-caffeinated wack job. Kudos to the Daily Show, and all praises that "Mike Davis" is not a comedy talent scout.

Calling this idiot a "comedian" is being generous. He's completely out of place on the Daily Show whch normally has higher standards. It's like Amateur Improv night when he shows up.

I don't know if I would call him "stupid, pretentious, and childish", but I can't stand his segments on TDS. They're dull, and I think it's because he has no screen presence.

at least he is a little funny in his interviews. On TDS he is nothing but stupid, pretentious and childish. Thank the lord I tivo TDS so I can just quickly skip his vapid segments.
