Anna Devane coming back to Port Charles

finola hughesAs part of May sweeps, actress Finola Hughes will be reprising her role as Anna Devane (or, if you will, Anna Devane Scorpio Lavery Scorpio Hayward) on General Hospital. Hughes was originally on the soap opera in the 1980s, and left the show in 1992 before taking the role to All My Children in the late 90s. She currently hosts How Do I Look? on the Style Network. I don't watch soap operas, but I do remember the character of Anna since my mom watched General Hospital pretty religiously. Hughes won Emmys for her role as Anna on both General Hospital and All My Children, although she also won a Razzie for her role in the movie Staying Alive. I'm not sure if the awards cancel each other out or not.  Hughes has also been in numerous guest roles on shows such as Charmed and Tracey Takes On.... She's set to make her return to Port Charles on May 12.

You know it's interesting how certain character returns are no longer kept secret to 'shock' the audience. I am GH fan (thanks to my mother) and when I read the spoiler for Anna's return, I nearly fell out of my chair as this is something we've been waiting for. And just to make things more interesting, at the same time, Tristan Rogers who plays Robert Scorpio will be on GH. (Along with Emma Samms who plays Holly Sutton/Scorpio...)

Anyway, I read the spoilers when Robert first returned to GH in February so when he showed up I was pretty excited just seeing him back on the show, but I do wonder just how I would have behaved if I had no clue he would walk around the corner.

There is some good story telling going on right now on General Hospital. They know the 80s.. the Scorpio/Spencer/Cassadine world was quite exciting, and they're finally cashing in on the nostalgia everyone has been waiting for.
