Another Emmy sweep for Ellen

ellen degeneresDouble Emmys for Ellen DeGeneres again this year, as she won for best talk show and best host. DeGeneres thanked the fans and then she told her partner, Portia de Rossi (Arrested Development), "I love you."

Also, Barbara Walters introduced Rosie O'Donnell as the newest co-host of The View, since Meredith Vieira is headed to Today on NBC in September. O'Donnell said, "Well, thank God. It was either that or celebrity fit club."

Other winners at the Daytime Emmys:
  • Lead Actress: Kim Zimmer, Guiding Light
  • Supporting Actress: Gina Tognoni, Guiding Light
  • Lead Actor: Tony Geary, General Hospital
  • Best Drama & Best Directing: General Hospital
  • Best Game Show Host: Alex Trebek, Jeopardy!
  • Best Preschool Children's Series: Sesame Street

Love that quote from Rosie! I did hear Carnie Wilson say on one of her many talk show appearances this week that she is going to do Celebrity Fit Club this time around.
