(S01E08) If anyone has ever had famliy over for an extended stay, sooner or later tensions will arise and there will be many uncomfortable situations to navigate. But how many guests in your home have urinated in your kitchen sink, borrowed your spouse's car and put a huge scratch in it, or undermine your plans for a holiday dinner with their own menu ideas?

Frank Henrickson (as played by Bruce Dern) was especially obnoxious this week, as witnessed by his tendency to use alternate means of going to the bathroom. In addition, there is no love lost between his sons Bill and Joey. He has some grduging respect for Bill, since he is a businessman and, more importantly, has money. However, he especially taunts Joey about his past football failures, and the time will come where either Joey or his wife Wanda will take severe umbrage with Frank.

Bill and Roman continue to battle over money, and they are in the process of suing each other for some big bucks. Speaking of big bucks, Nikki's paranoia is still at a high level, and she calls her mother (one of Roman's 14 wives) for help in eliminating her $60,000 credit card debt, but is met with indifference. Nikki is fearful that Bill is going to find out, and she's exploring every possible angle. From what was shown in the previews for next week, this credit card debt issue is going to come to a head.

Margene seemed to be acting quite rationally this week, and was not afraid to voice her displeasure over the actions of the Henrickson's visitors. Barb was rather detached from it all, still saddened over the ending of her "affair" with her husband (Bill). Could it be that she was trying to influence Bill to ease Nikki and Margene out of their lives? This might be a story worth exploring down the road.

A surprisingly tender moment occurred when Sarah, Bill and Barb's oldest daughter, was able to bond with Lois, her grandmother. Sarah has been questioning her faith and her entire family dynamic, and it appears she is trying to gain some understanding, and perhaps her burgeoining relationship with her grandmother will help her make sense of this whole thing.

In addition, the signs of Bill and Roman's "battle" all point to a violent confrontation, and the fact that Frank was discovered to be doing Roman's dirty work and spying on Bill makes it even more creepy.

All in all, the moral of this story seemed to be that if you invite family over to stay for a while, you will live (or die) with the consequences.
