Stop calling each other 'baby'!

amazing race 9 teams
I love The Amazing Race. I get a kick out of couples that think it's not okay to snip at each other when the going gets tough (puh-lease, you're only human). What I don't like about The Amazing Race is the way that all the couples call each other 'baby'. As in, "Good job, baby!" or "Hurry, baby!" or "I'm so sorry, baby." ALL the couples do it and it's getting really annoying. Why not use your mate's first name?

This is why I am rooting for the Frat Boys and the Hippies (being from Portland, I am rooting a little more for the Hippies than the Frat Boys).

I think "pet names" such as baby come naturally when you're in a relationship. They used to annoy me as well until I got into a serious relationship. Now I always have to catch myself when we speak in public to call her by her given name.

Yes, Yes, Yes.

Thank you for saying something that has always driven me nuts on this show.

Thank you.

Even when I've HAD a boyfriend, being called "baby" irritates me. I'm not an infant, for chrissake.

Anna, I am totally with you especially on a show where you want people to cheer for you and learn your name.

It does not really happen with couples (except for Gretchen and Meredith) because you can tell their names by the gender but it also bugs me when I have no idea within the team who is who. I am really rooting for the Hippies but I could not tell you which one is BJ and which is Tyler (or who is Eric and who is Jeremy either).

Sounds like someone needs a boyfried.......jk. I'm down with the "babies" and I think my wife is too (she hasn't complained yet). I love the catch phrase of the year so far from B.J. and Tyler......TITAO (sure hope thats how you spell it)
