aaron sorkinHey, here's news that probably won't shock you. NBC has picked up Studio 60 on Sunset Strip, the new Aaron Sorkin-Thomas Schlamme show starring Amanda Peet, Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford, Timothy Busfield, Steven Weber, DL Hughley and Nate Corddry. The show is set behind-the-scenes of a Saturday Night Live-style sketch comedy show. Perry and Whitford will play the head writers and Peet will play the new entertainment chief who "inherits a massive public relations disaster on the series."

Last I heard, Joshua Malina will be part of the cast, but he wasn't part of the pilot. I would imagine that at some point he'll join the cast because he's been in every Aaron Sorkin project.

Actually, since the show completely rips the network that broadcasts the SNL-like show at the core of the series, it kinda does surprise me that NBC picked it up. I guess their bottom line is more important to them than their self-esteem.

Oh, wait--they're a corporation. OF COURSE their bottom line is more important!

What, no part for Joshua Malina? That's very "un-Sorkin-like".
