Sci-Fi takes its Pulse

by Adam Finley, posted May 6th 2006 2:02PM
sci-fiFollowing close behind other networks who are starting to embrace this whole "broadband content" thing, the Sci-Fi Channel will be launching its own broadband venture, Pulse, in two days. Web surfers will be able to watch rebroadcast shows and movies, exclusive news, and web-only shows. Other online components will also include live psychic readings from Char Margolis, and producer David Eick's Battlestar Galactica vlog. Admittedly, I don't watch much Sc-Fi, but the channel has had a fairly solid presence on the Web from the beginning, so it's cool to see it finally taking this inevitable step. Pulse will launch on May 8.

SciFi seriously needs to either start showing good science fiction again (consistantly, not just Star Trek, Battlestar and the occasional Dune movie) or change their name to "The Lo-Budget, Toronto filmed, crappy horror/sorta sci-fi Movie Channel".

.mf.

Hey, Passions actually does fit on Sci-Fi, given that it turned into a supernatural series....

But hey, they're bringing back Exposure! Sweet!

I have a tivo so unless they offer some thing with truly new content I'm not interested. Seems like sci fi is slowly loosing its core values. Law and Order .. come on! What a waste of a great channel.

Wow...live psychic readings!

(slams head against keyboard repeatedly)

It'll be interesting to see how else Sci-Fi fills up the programming for this new outlet when their schedule on television now includes marathons of Law & Order: SVU and the soap opera Passions.
