(S05E16) So I'm sitting in my new apartment, all alone, it's quiet as hell, and I'm watching the opening of The Family Guy and they show a scene from JAG. And I laughed, very loudly, all alone in my apartment. I felt kinda silly, but when Mac asks Harm if anyone even watches the show anymore and he says, "not really, they don't really pay attention" then looks at the camera and says "Remember the forties?" I just lost it.Sure, JAG isn't even on anymore, but it was still funny.
Joe ruins Peter's movie night by making his own multiplex (funny intro for the theaters, but the Rocky joke was predictable and lame). Peter is ticked off and vows to make his own multiplex. The following scene involves a gay mailbox and Peter using an old Indian skull for a Robin Williams parody. Um, wow. Deranged, but funny.
Meanwhile, the static from the television is drawing Stewie in, a la Poltergeist (and the TV asks him what's up with Friends and how the Joey spinoff is doing).
Brian wonders if the Indian skull is what's causing the odd stuff that's happening in the house. Lois tries to convince herself that the furniture moving was something she did and just forgot, and Brian says "I haven't seen this much denial since John Travolta married Kelly Preston" (cut to their wedding, with Travolta saying that he vows to "love her and stuff, touch her penis ...").
I turned away from the TV for 10 seconds, and when I turned back, the old guy with the walker was battling a killer tree in another dimension. Not sure what happened there. Meanwhile, Brian is trapped in another dimension via the TV, and uses the odd effect on his voice to do an impression of Phil Collins singing "In The Air Tonight."
"Stewie, if you can hear me, head for Meg's butt!" It seems that Meg's ass is the portal connected to the portal where Stewie vanished. Peter takes the opportunity to knock a few golf balls out of her ass, and stick his head out of it too. (Lots of funny Poltergeist takeoffs in this episode, even the music and special effects.)
Lois goes into the portal and grabs Stewie, and they escape out of her ass, covered in purple goo. (Stewie: "This is what Tom Arnold must have felt like on his wedding night.") The family runs out of the house, but Meg is left behind (Peter: "The plan was if we could only save two, we'd leave Meg behind!"). But Meg escapes and yells at her parents for leaving without her.
Brian asks Stewie how the other side was, and Stewie says he met Jesus. He's Chinese, and is last name is Hong ("He doesn't know where people are getting 'Christ' from").
The Griffins go to a soup kitchen (Quagmire couldn't have they stay because he was dressed as a baby and having sex with someone). The menu isn't too appetizing, so they go to the library to find out how to get rid of the poltergeist. They have to get rid of the Indian skull. So they go to the junkyard to get it, but they find out that Carrot Top took it during one of his weekly junk runs. They go to his giant mansion and find he's wearing it while sitting on his throne. Peter gets it away from him and he buries it in their yard. Lois tells Peter "I love you," and Peter says "I've grown fond of you too honey."
Final joke: Peter pushes the TV out of the house, but then reconsiders and brings it back in.
