Britney confirms pregnancy on Letterman

by Anna Johns, posted May 9th 2006 10:13PM
britney spears; david lettermanBritney Spears will make a 'surprise' appearance on Letterman tonight where she confirms that she is pregnant with her second child. Britney doesn't say when she's due, but her first child, Sean Preston, turns one in September. Those kids are going to be close together. You can watch the video here.

I think it's pretty ballsy to choose Letterman over Leno. You know that Leno would kiss her butt, but you're playing with fire when you decide to make a major announcement with Letterman sitting three feet away. Then again, he could've taken a verbal swing at Kevin Federline. I don't think that video clip is their entire interaction.

Britney Spears has been proving that money just makes her a rich hillbilly. She is hardly an icon - that takes years to prove and she's just barely old enough to drink legally. She successfully pulled off the transition from having a "tween" fan base to horny old men hoping to sneak a peek but ICON is a thing that is earned over many years and by making your mark in a unique way on the music industry. She has not accomplished that yet and won't as long as Kevin can keep her barefoot & pregnant.

I am glad she chose Letterman instead of Leno. I can not stand Leno. I wish he were going off the air this year and Conan was taking over now. Anyway David is real and not fake and I'm glad she chose him. :)

Letterman is about as caustic as yogurt. It's hardly balsy to go on his show.

Maybe it is just me, but I could really care less what Britney Spears is doing. I'm SO sick of hearing about her. I don't hate her, I just have no interest in her or her music, or how many kids she decides to have. I think she is SO overrated. Maybe it's just my age...lol!

From the Top Ten Things I, Peter Griffin, Would Like To Say To America:

2. "If Jay Leno makes you laugh, chances are I don't care for you as a person"

More power to her, I hope she has 5 more, she can afford it. Britney's career will never be over. She will always be welcomed back. She is an icon.

It looks like the "pop star" (or "pop tart", as others have said) phase of Britney's career is truly over... and Britney doesn't seem to mind.

It's actually quite refreshing...
