Alias: I See Dead People
(S05E14) Can someone please tell me why Syd is being so casual around her home, especially with the baby? I mean, here she is, in the middle of a global conspiracy, with people trying to kill her, friends being murdered left and right, coworkers turning against her, not knowing who to trust, and she still stays in her house, alone, with her baby? No guards, no security devices? And when someone rings the doorbell there's no camera to see who it is, she just goes and opens the door? I'll believe all this Rambaldi stuff before I believe that.So Nadia and Renee' are both dead, and Sloane is back with the bad guys trying to decode page 47. While they hold a funeral for Nadia, an autopsy shows a 30 year old chip inside of Renee's body ... and it has Michael Vaughn's real name etched into it ...
Jack needs to get the chip to Vaughn to find out what it means (did his dad put it in Renee 30 years ago?), so Syd decides to take it to him in person.
Meanwhile, Sloane and Syd lookalike Anna have a "heart to heart." Sloane warns her that now that she looks like Syd, when Prophet 5 is done with her, she's dispensible.
In Nepal, Anna/Syd meets with the man Syd was supposed to meet with to see Vaughn, and knocks him out. Another man takes his place and meets the real Syd.
Back at APO, Marshall hears noises on the phone and realizes Sloane has bugged the office, and Marshall and Jack realize that Prophet 5 knows that Syd went to Nepal. Jack calls Syd on her cell phone (where would action and sci-fic shows be now without cell phones), and Syd knocks out the driver, which causes the car to flip over. Anna/Syd walks over to the car and sets the car on fire, but not before telling Syd that she's the one who killed Renee, and is now going to see Vaughn.
Sloane is having ghostly visions of Nadia, who is taunting him and asking him why Rambaldi would choose him to be "the one." He tells Payton that he needs a special rare book from Geneva to decipher page 47, but he's lying. He already knows what the page says.
Anna/Syd meets Vaughn. After a little kissy face, Anna/Syd tells him Renee' is dead, and that Anna killed her. They talk about the chip. Vaughn has no idea what it is, but remembers an accident he had as a kid, and the scar he got from it. Maybe the chip can be read after all ... maybe the other half is in him!
Anna/Syd is going to cut the chip out of Vaughn. She cuts it out and the chips fit together perfectly.
Payton goes to the bookstore and gets the book. The owner calls someone after and says "someone is trying to contact you...no, not him," meaning Sloane. Who is he talking to? (My guess? Irina.)
Vaughn finds out that the chip contains a Cold War map, and he tells Anna/Syd that he wants to go with her, as Syd races to the cottage.
Favorite moment: Jack holds a secret meeting and tells Dixon, Marshall, Tom, and Rachel that Vaughn is still alive, and Marshall slams the table with his fist and says "I knew he wasn't dead!!"
Payton brings the book to Sloane, who is still being taunted by visions of Nadia.
Vaughn and Anna/Syd go to a jewelry store (they have to get downstairs). Anna/Syd knocks out a guard and Vaughn goes downstairs as Anna/Syd calls someone for an extraction. Vaughn breaks into a secret wall in the basement. It's a dusty, cobwebbed room with old photos on the wall. He looks around, and then Anna/Syd comes in and, pointing a gun at him says, "thanks, I've got it from here."
But Vaughn took out the clip! He knew she wasn't Syd (he tricked her with a question earlier). They fight and fight and fight until Anna/Syd gets another gun out of a cabinet. She aims it at Vaughn ... but then is shot from behind in the back and head by Syd. Vaughn and the real Syd kiss (and the whole audience at home goes "awwwwwwww").
Anna/Syd's cell phone rings. It's Payton (second favorite moment, from Vaughn: "Who's Payton?"). She wants Anna/Syd to meet her. Vaughn takes one piece of the chip, and tells Syd to take the other. Syd meets with Payton, disguised as Anna/Syd (oh for God's sake, this is going to be complicated to describe next episode).
Meanwhile, Sloane goes to a church (to "make peace with Nadia"), but he meets someone there ...
Sark!
