You knew this was coming: an American Idol conspiracy!

Chris DaughtryOutraged Chris Daughtry fans are saying that not only was it hard to get through to the American Idol phone lines, but when they did get through, some of the callers were misdirected to Katherine McPhee's phone line!

And many online posters on the MSNBC boards are saying the same thing, that when they got through they heard a recording of Katherine McPhee's voice. Friends of Daughtry from North Carolina are telling the Associated Press the same thing. Still other callers reported getting through to the XXX ALL ADULT ACTION line.

OK, I'm kidding about that last part.

I suspect that Chris will do just fine in the long run. Clay hasn't done too badly...

Some people lives do not evolve around "petty theatrics." It definitely speaks of the mentality of us all. It is like AOL showing the prettiest woman (you could not see the woman for the MAKEUP). We knew the prettiest woman was Beyoince all along. We just laugh

I feel that no matter how many times someone would call for chris he would remotley be near winning even if the numbers were right. I the phone doesn't work then text who you want to win but the fact is chris was nowhere near winning especially going against katherine and taylor

Does anyone else feel that the whole process is a launching pad for 3 or 4 individuals that were plants in the original auditions.
Talent can forget the words ADMIT it then goes on .
I think the producers felt that Chris will have a career and is marketable and that the show has done all that it can for him but will benefit others more.

If everyone remembers Season 4 this is a repeat of Constatine. We signed petitions, cussed a blue streak, left messages everywhere from our outrage. I honestly believe in the end it helped, because he has a bright future ahead of him, and if Chris will use this to help him he will do the same. I loved his rendition of "Walk The Line". I have learned it is better to be a free artisti instead of American Idol owning you for the most important part of your career, The Beginning. I wish you well Chris.

Stop the craziness about Chris being voted off. I didn't want him to go either, but am beginning to change my mind because Instead of looking at it as the great opportunity to audition before millions, Chris has shown himself to be a poor loser. American Idol was never promised to him. He acts like he was misled in some way. He should be thankful for the exposure and for the opprtunities from bands he has already been offered because of Idol.
