Larry Storch's stepdaughter discusses her family's secret

by Joel Keller, posted May 22nd 2006 5:51PM
Larry Storch and June CrossIn today's editions of the Newark Star-Ledger, writer Lisa Irizarry talks to June Cross, who is the bi-racial stepdaughter of F Troop star Larry Storch. In the article, Cross and Storch discuss how June's mother Norma, who was white, took pains to hide the fact that June was her own daughter, especially in the rigid world of 1960's Hollywood. At various times, Norma Storch pawned June off on her landlords, asked that June call her "Aunt Norma" when company came over, and told people that she was the Storchs' adopted daughter. The article discusses not only June's book about the subject, but also the Frontline documentary she did in 1997, where Norma finally opened up about the way she dealt with a daughter she was apparently ashamed to have. Interesting read.
