AI; american idol; logo; moobyWho would have guessed at the beginning of the season that it would have come down to Katharine and Taylor? Many people tagged Taylor as a sure thing early on, but I doubt many would have expected young Ms. McPhee to make it this far. Come join me and the rest of the American Idol fanatics tonight as we chat live during the show. As with all of our chats, you must have AIM or a compatible chat client (Trillian, GAIM, etc), once you have that, meet back here to this very post at 8pm ET, and that's when I'll unveil the location for our super secret chat room. See you then!

Update:
Come one, come all;  here is the super secret location for our American Idol Chat! Look for me (TVSRyan) in the chat room. See you inside.

Toni Braxton - What was that? I couldn't hear or understand any of her lyrics. It's like her voice is so low it doesn't register as audible by the human ear! She was not even trying to enunciate her words and they came out so garbled and mumbly it was embarrassing. She was only concerned with posing and strutting and couldn't care less about her singing.

Why are these young people forced to sing these CRAP IDOL SONGS! "I can't beleive its me" "Are you proud of me?" "This magic moment" Give me a break. Who writes this stuff anyway?

Taylor Hicks is clearly the winner, he has charisma, good looks, humility and above all of that, he sings with heart and soul. He's the Michael McDonald of this day and time. I guess Simon will have to re-think his bias against Taylor's grey hair. If you have any sense of what music and entertainment is all about, you'll know without a doubt that Taylor is the obvious winner!

Well, I'm sad to say tomorrow night will be the last show of the season. I have watched it from the beginning of the season and enjoyed hearing all the contestants. I didn't always agree with the results each week, but enjoyed it just the same. I wish all the contestants the best of luck with their music.
Tonight's show was a little disappointing though. I would have liked to hear them do songs they hadn't previously done before. They had already been judged on those. In fact, I thought their first time they both sang the songs was better than tonight.
My vote goes to Taylor. I have always been entertained when he performed and has shown he can take the judge's remarks without rolling his eyes and making excuses. I think he would do AI proud. Nothing plastic about him. The audience seemed to respond very well to him tonight. Go Soul Patrol!

On the first night of American Idol I wrote down Taylor as the Winner & I had Elliot as the second place in the MENS category. I too think he sings like Michael McDonald & look forward to listening to Taylor for a long time to come..

Yes, Katherine has a lovely voice. Yes, she is very pretty. Yes, she seems sweet. Yes she is marketable. And she is just like every other pretty-faced, pretty-voiced carbon copy barbie doll that the series has pumped out since day one. If this show is really about music (as opposed to a Miss America Apple Pie contest), then Taylor should win. He also sweet, and cute and has a nice voice. But he has more than that - a personality, a presence, a style all his own, and an entertaining showmanship like no one ever has on this venue. Regardless - both will have successful careers. Congrats to both.

Well, here we go again, I am really wondering if this is rigged..
I wanted Chris but he is not as manipulatable.
is that a word?
Taylor is what we need but no matter what Kat is by far the singer with the most range!

I am repulsed by comment #4 by "dazed and confused", referring to Taylor as an "autistic" or "Retarded". I wonder what the ADA has to say about this. These are unkind words, not only to Taylor but to refer to autistic people as being "retarded".

Please remove this person's comment. Thank-you!

I think that the show has been rigged for some time now. I think it was unfair that Katherine had to sing an Elvis song with all the boys. You never see the guys having to do a Dolly Parton evening. It is biased. Also , Paula so obviously loves all the males. She finds it very hard to say anything nice about the female singers especially Katherine. Katherine my be slightly conceited but she does have a great voice. Taylor on the other hand does not have a great singing voice but possesses charisma .I think that two of his songs this evening were awful to listen to.It was like listening to nails on a chalkboard. He should stick to singing in bars and playing the harmonica. I think that in the end katherine will still sell far more records than Taylor.
