Nothing more thansour grapes, they can't replace him with anyone people will listen to, so they will try to make money off of him. How much money did they make off of him while he was there? Corporate greed and jealousy.

This morning he officially had "no comment" on air during Robin's news at the end of the show.

Who's to say in the settlement that they didn't pay him?

On top of it I - too - hope he gets his old tapes.

But my point is, Erik, that with all of Howard's bluster, it really looked like he was going to fight this tooth and nail, no matter what the cost. My thinking is he settled because a) he realized the suit wasn't going to be dismissed and he'd have to pay for a trial defense, and b) he wasn't necessarily going to win.

I *hope*, though, that he gets his KROCK material in the settlement. It'll be cool to hear some of the early KROCK days on the Sirius show...

Joel, they could have settled for $1. Just because you settle doesn't mean the lawsuit had merit. It could cost more to defend then it does to settle. That's the point of our system, push the defendant into paying not to go through the process. It costs money for a defense even if you win.

Howard goes on national TV (on Letterman, right in the enemy's den) to say how silly and absurd the suit was... and then he SETTLES? Guess the suit had some merit, after all.
