Don't we already have enough dance competition shows?

by Bob Sassone, posted May 25th 2006 8:29AM
If FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, televised ballroom dancing, and the new talent show America's Got Talent isn't enough dancing for you, MTV and Sean 'Diddy' Combs are teaming to create a new street dancing reality show that will air on the network. Says Combs:

"This show will showcase the drive, determination, and expression of this dance generation - picture Rocky, but with dance troupes."

Um, wasn't that Staying Alive?

Wait, didn't MTV already have a hip-hop dance competition show a couple of years ago with Wade something-or-other, the guy who coordinated dance moves for N'Sync and Backstreet Boys, etc.? (why I know that I have no clue)

Personally I would watch a show if it was anything like the awesome movie, Rize. Or, if they did somethign about Parkour (free running). I've always wondered how people train for that sort of thing, it looks dangerous. I guess it's not exactly dancing, but it's still way cooler than watching people do the waltz.
