Who wants to watch a documentary about a Millionaire?

In response to the "contract will expire in a few days", upon the agreement for Millionaire to continue to be on ABC, there has to be at least one run (I believe it has to be a week run, not sure) within two years of the last airing of a primetime Millionaire.

Since May 2004 was the last run of "Super Millionaire", that means the time for ABC to maintain the rights for Millionaire is very slim. In fact, the last Millionaire Play It! attraction in MGM Studios in Orlando has confirmed that it will be closing soon. That pretty much seals the deal for Millionaire not returning to ABC.

It's also worth noting that Celador is selling the rights to ALL versions of Millionaire for $70 Million. The only thing I've heard from that is that Endemol (the company that owns the rights for Deal or No Deal) might be interested in picking up these rights.

However, this does not affect the syndicated version of Millionaire. The syndicated version tapes at Sony Studios.

As a game show junkie, it's my duty to know all this. =P
