Big Brother 7 update
I've deliberately held off on updating about Big Brother 7 over the weekend, partly because some of our readers felt we were giving too much away about the various goings-on in the house, but also because not much of any interest happened -- apart from a bit of minor bickering and a food task that didn't quite work out for the incarcerated housemates. However, if you're of an easily-spoiled disposition, you might want to cover your eyes and ears now, then run around your house shouting "la-la-la-la-la I'm not list-en-ing!".
Warning: spoilers after the jump.
Probably the most significant news to emerge out of the BB house (apart from Nikki's incessant whingeing) is the introduction of two new housemates during an extended quiz in the diary room, which Tourette sufferer Pete took part in. Unfortunately, the show over-ran by about 10 minutes on Monday night, and my Sky+ box just couldn't cope with the extra minutes, so I had to rely on the Digital Spy messageboard to get the rest of the gossip.
According to the information available on various news sources, producers introduced Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, aged 27 (I got as far as her being revealed from a box in the garden before the recording ended), and Sam Brodie, aged 18. The most interesting information is that Sam -- a 'nail technician' from North Ayrshire in Scotland is biologically a man but dresses as a female and will be referred to as a woman for the purposes of the show.
Aisleyne is a typical blonde model-wannabe, and has been facing a tough time from some of her fellow housemates since arriving on Monday night. No surprises there then?
Despite all this, the most dramatic news from the house today is the departure of posh boy George from the house of his own free will -- the third housemate to depart the house under acrimonious circumstances in under two weeks. Apparently, poor George didn't think he would be able to cope with the horrendous fame associated with Big Brother when he left the house, and decided to cut his losses and walk.
At this rate, they'll be lucky to have anyone left in the house by the time the Fifa World Cup starts on Friday 9 June.
