(S06E03) The Simpsons has done more than a few clip shows in its almost two decades of existence, and while these looks back at past episodes usually tend to be the least favorite among fans for obvious reasons, I will say that at least the episodes are framed in such a way as to still make them worth watching. Besides, you get to see some great scenes from past episodes. It's like a slideshow that's not quite so boring, you know?

Okay, I don't know if any of you bought that or not, but let's delve into this review anyway. In this episode, each of the family members relate stories of love and heartbreak. Marge finally tells Homer about Jacque, the man who tried to woo her with his bowling lessons and fake accent in season one. Homer is appalled, demanding Marge break it off with the man over the next couple of months. Marge agrees, even though she never had an affair with him in the first place. Homer talks about Mindy, the new gal at work who tempted him, and the fortune cookie that predicted they would have sex. Bart talks about his crush on his babysitter, including one of my favorite scenes from The Simpsons in which the girl of Bart's dreams literally tears out his heart ("You won't be needing this") and throws it against the wall of his treehouse. It's funny because it's oh so very true. Also, the beginning of the episode alludes to one of my favorite moments from the earlier seasons, a sex education video called "Fuzzy Bunny" in which a Jewish rabbit teaches kids how to have sex, and also why they shouldn't.
