I saw the same thing over at Engadget, and my issue is with the Direct TV DVRs. The basic unit they go with is an absolute nightmare, as they seemed to ignore everything that was great in the original Tivo units. One of the most annoying things about the unit is the universal remote--which forces you to hit a button twice to select a different component. I'm sure the units will get better as time goes on, but if you are going to spend this cash, it should be top-notch.

What I would really love is to be able to only pay for the channels I want. Honestly, how many channels do most of us really watch? I don't watch about 75% of the channels on my Comcast standard cable, yet it stil costs me about $45 a month because that's the only way to get some of the cable channels. Perhaps with the IPTV revolution we'll see services that can completely replace the current clunky cable/satellite model.

And they wonder why TV torrents are so popular...
