High O'Brian as Wyatt EarpIf you think you're going to be perpetually single, that you're too old to get married for the first time, Hugh O'Brian should be your hero. The 81-year-old actor, who is best known for starring in the 1955-61 series The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp got married to his longime girlfriend, 54-year-old Virginia Barber, on Sunday. This was Barber's second marriage and O'Brian's first. You read that right, my friends. O'Brian held out all the way to 81 before breaking down. In honor of the occasion, the ceremony was titled "A Wedding to Die For."

The ceremony itself was interesting: Adhering to the morbid theme, it was held in a cemetary. Among the 300 attendees were look-alikes of deceased notables Elvis Presley and Pope John Paul II. Debbie Reynolds (not a look-alike; she's still with us) sang, and the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Robert Schuller, pastor of the Crystal Cathedral. Wow. I know people sometimes say that after you get married, a little part of you dies, but this is ridiculous.

I love how it took him 18 years to commit. There's hope, girls! If you just wait until after menopause...

And the death-themed wedding is pretty hysterical. Kinda cool, in a way.
