Soledad O'Brien among 15 who make America great

soledad o'brienBravo to Newsweek! This week's edition of the magazine features a cover story titled, '15 People Who Make America Great: The Giving Back Awards'. CNN's Morning Edition anchor Soledad O'Brien is number 9 on that list. She's the only television personality on the list. The editors included her for her much-overlooked reporting in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina (you may remember, Anderson Cooper stole the spotlight). The magazine commends O'Brien for her passionate reporting and her humanity, and for being among the first to nail former FEMA chief Michael Brown to the wall.

Others on the list include Brad Pitt, for luring the paparazzi to Africa and other wordly locations that attention; Target, for giving back to communities, and a handful of people you've never heard of who have inspiring stories.

So...let me get this right. Soledad O'Brian is on a list of what makes America great. It's kinda a joke, but I'll buy it. However, once I clicked the link, I realized Brad Pitt was also on this list of what makes America great. And the reason? For letting all of us stupid Americans know that there is a country named Namibia. I don't think I have ever been so disapointed in our country and our news at the same time before.

Rarrrr....she is so easy on the eyes! I want more hurricanes this season just so we can get her out in the field in some sexy casual wear again. Does that make me evil?

I remmeber when Soledad was a young up and commer on Bay Area TV (local staions and the precursor to ZDTV)

Sadly she's become yet another unquestioning mouthpiece newsreader who pushes her corporate master's agenda over the public's interest in the truth.
