Is Kathy Griffin's reality show unreal?

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 30th 2006 9:44PM
Kathy GriffinThat's what gossip queen Janet Charleton is alleging in her latest post. She says that even though Griffin has said on her standup special and elsewhere that she and husband Matt are working things out, the two have actually been living apart for quite some time, and the scenes you see of him living in her home aren't true. He comes into the house to film scenes for My Life on the D List, but then he leaves again when the filming is done.

Charleton says that the couple's marriage is over. Hmmm...

Kathy Griffins is the female version of Don Rickles.
She's so bad, she has reverted to pulling her pants down for a laugh.

After moving, I don't have Bravo anymore. I love Kathy and really enjoyed her first season of Life on the D-List. My favorite episode was when she went on the View. But I thought Matt seemed like the one guy who could handle her insecurities and over the top personality. I also adore her parents. She's abrasive and will whore herself out for PR but she's honest about it. You know if it's just a 30 min show that we are getting the best of or played for the camera moments. She was perfect for the Match Game episode of Gameshow Marathon. It almost makes you wish they would bring that show back but I don't think the world today could handle the non-political correct type show that Match Game always was.

You cannot point a camera at someone and expect them to not put on an act.

I have always like Kathy Griffin and Matt. I think the show is great. I hope they can work out their marriage because they make a great team. He is good for her. Kathy keep up the good work and Thank you for taking your act to the war.

i personally have never seen the show so I couldn't speak of specifics. It sounds like the columnist is just trying to stir up something. I'm sure a couple can work on their marriage and still live apart. The fact that they are under the same roof for the show is better for the storyline. A show like this has nothing to with anything "real".

They may not be living together -- but they don't say on the show that they're back together either. Kathy says they're "working on it." Certainly they were in one room when they were in Iraq entertaining the troops. Frankly, I feel bad that they broke up. They seemed good for each other, but relationships are difficult and with a reality TV camera watching every move, it must be even more difficult.

Where's Bobby and Whitney? That's a "reality" I like to watch! Who ever suspected Bobby was the normal one??

I felt bad for him after seeing the episode where she badgers him to peddle her DVDs at a show. She really is something of a greedy little cheapskate, and what "celebrity", D-list or not, has to annoy their spouse into selling their goods for them?

I can tolerate her in small doses but it is hard for me to watch her on a regular basis.
