Star Jones takes over CNN

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 30th 2006 11:22AM
Wow. Just...wow.

Here it is, 11:18am or so, and what does CNN have on right now? Nope, not breaking news or political coverage or news on the war in Iraq. They are rerunning the Star Jones interview from last night.

This, in a word, is vile. Why is she getting so much press? Why are the news networks treating this like it's some sort of important news story, instead of a pop culture/celeb thing? It boggles the mind that CNN would interrupt their weekday sked to show this again.

Today on The Situation Room witih Wolf Blitzer: an in-depth remport on whether Kevin Federline is good for Britney Spears.

I hope people don,t take this comment as racist , but any time person of african race is released from a job or position , first thing is because I am black, Mrs Jones in my estimate was never any good , like some one else suggested get a loveley , articulate, and funny, bring back "Charro" or some one like her.

I was never really big on Star but I think the view did her wrong. I thought the show was about women that were different. So what's the big deal if she is outspoken. Joy is obnoxious! I think Star can hold her own against Walters and the rest of them after all she is an experienced attorney. She showed that when she announced her departure before the view cast and producers were ready. Hey, they fired her. She had to take control of the situation and turn it in her favor. Waiting to do this announcement on their terms would not have been beneficial to her. The story would have been Star was fired and that's it. So, why walk away quietly when you feel like you have been stabbed in the back? According to the view their polls showed that Star was bad for their ratings but this view doesn't cut it. Since when has loosing weight been a mark against anyone in the public eye? They say she was a "diva." So what! Most of these people in the public eye are way more demanding than the rest of us. This type of behavior is nothing new. If so many viewers don't want to see Star why did her talk with L. King bring in 3 million viewers? When you get that kind of attention heck yeah CNN is going to run the show again. The news is about getting important information but is also about ratings. Ratings bring in advertisements and we all know money makes the world go around.

Yes indeed the show will now be the Rosie O'donell.
The View seems to be coming to an end. They were cruel in their treatment of Star. Are we really supposed to think "the view" was losing ratings because of Star. Star they've used you as a scapegoat. The wanted to get rid of you because they knew you and Rosie would not get along. They were showing you who was more important to them. To be honest you don't want to be a part of that type of treatment anyway. You gave them loyal service for nine long years and they kicked you in the gut. They never wanted to consider that maybe folks saw Barbara as boring. Joy as plain ole rude, and Elizabeth as a veggie. Star and Meredith bought the most to the show. I wish Star the best of luck! Keep on keeping on!!!! Godspeed!!!!

The view is whack without Star Jones. She will definitely be missed, they need to get rid of Rosie O'Donell. She is going to be a problem for Barbara just wait and see

I was never a big fan of Star Jones, but I have gotten a new respect for her since this firing. She definitely is smarter than the whole panel now that Meredith is gone. Barbara needs to join Dan Rather and head for radio and take Elizabeth with her. I guess now the show will be a gab feast about babies..I guess that I will start watching Doctor Phil instead of the View...

They replayed the American Idol Larry King episode over and over again too. The one where Ryan filled in and interviewed Katharine, Taylor and Randy. They showed it all weekend long. It doesn't surprise me that they will show this over and over again too. Too bad Larry didn't show the clip of Star getting knocked out by the football.

Since Star and Meridth are out of the way, In September "The View" will become the Rosie O'Donell show. She is selfish and is unable to see things outside her frame of reference.

Barbara has been exposed for who she really is a liar and a manipulator. She is unable to carry a show on her on. She is only good for asking questions someone else has written. We know very little about who she is as a person. We know more about all the other View cast than Babs. She knows that if we knew the true Babs, we wouldn't like her.

Star keeps saying this was a business decision and she's a professional, but overlooks the fact that every day in corporate America people are told they must leave and given the option to look like it was their decision. They were doing her a favor by allowing her to save face, not telling her to lie. And so what that her contract wasn't renewed which means she was fired? She should have been fired after the first season. I've never seen such a self-involved host like her before. I'll actually go BACK to watching The View now that I won't have to listen to her diatribes.

I had noticed tension on the view the last few months, now I know why. As much as Star jones annoyed me, she is still a better speaker than Elisabeth and Barbara put together. That show has started to become a gossip tv rag and unintellectual since Lisa Ling has left. Time for a change network. What happened to "friends" Ms Walters? You looked like a bitch the next day after Star's resignation " and then there were three"? Your lack of ability to vocalize a situtation in a more professional way reinforced my thoughts that you are too old, move on and give us new blood and brains to listen to.You and that dingbat Elisabeth should leave, maybe then the show might live on.
