A bit late here. I didn't watch the show, and only just heard about this. May he rest in peace - he was obviously in pain in this world. And I thank the Lord that there are so many more good people in this world than bad - although it doesn't seem like that sometimes. I'm not a super-religious person, but very spiritual, and time and time again, I've seen people that have crappy attitudes get theirs - it NEVER fails. It may take a while, but karma comes. So don't worry or concern yourselves with their negative comments. The only people they're harming are themselves.

Suicide is the ultimate of expression of a life with no hope. All human life is valuable and without hope we do not see that value. 150,000 people die every day. It is the ultimate statistic...10 out of every 10 people die including yourself. Question is: What happens after you die? Where does your soul go?

Wow I am shocked... and I just found out today.
He has always been my favorite actor. I hope they don't replace him... he is NOT replaceable. they did it a few years ago, and just didn't work. I now know that was the time his mother died. I am so sad. I hope the best for his family. I am truely sorry and sad.
I will miss him.

So sad.Ben was a wonderful Actor. I have been out of the soap scene for a few weeks due to my work schedule, I am shocked, I didn't even know until yesterday....God be with his family and castmates. I hope he was able to make things right with God and finds peace now in the house of the Lord.

Wow, that's harsh. I can't believe he'd do something like that. The reason he was pushed over the edge is sort of silly though.. Depressed about his mother dying? I can understand that, that's a serious blow. But it was 3 years ago! Oh well, maybe I'm an insensitive jerk, but I'm willing to bet quite a few people agree with me. I mean, he had an incredible job! He was loaded, his job was generally stress free, unless of course his acting was bad...

I had the honor of working with Mr. Hendrickson on ATWT (as Rose's Bodyguard, Crater)in 2003 and he was very kind and approachable (i was new to the Soaps) and a very generous actor. Even then i kinda noticed a sadness in him, and that was probably around the time of his Mother's death. He brought a lot of humanity and dignity to his role as Hal Munson and he will be missed. Rest well Det. Munson, the Great Mystery is solved. Peace & Blessings to his family. brian w.

Benjamin Hendrickson was one of the best Actors on Broadway, Movie's and Primetime TV. Graduate from Julliard.He was very gifted.

Also on 21 yrs as our "Hal Munson" he was believable.Thats what you call "Method Acting". It just happened to be too hard on him. The storyline was heart wrenching. The way he said good-bye was like he was saying good bye to his Family Friends and Co-workers & Fans. I cried when he said good-bye to Jennifer ( his daughter in the Soap ATWT.)Brian you need to remember we are all here for a reason. To learn. Make mistakes. Try to not repeat them.
Ben brought alot of heart and soul to his work. "Hal" the Detective of Oakdale. I will never forget him.
I'm a Phlebotomist,and work in a hospital.I see alot of souls suffering with depression. I suffer from depression also. It's not anything to be ashamed of. Although, it makes you feel guilt and shame.
Jaymez, grow a soul you just might need it someday.

How can you be so cold? The man was a very gifted Actor. It was easy to see how smart and kind he was.
He loved his Family and does deserve RESPECT. I for one am very saddend by his passing.
For you to call him a" PUSSY" is just ignorant! Some people just feel more deeply than others. He was and is a good soul. I hope his Brother and Mother greeted him with open arms.

I used to watch As the World Turns quite alot...then I got busy working and have only tuned into it on days off or holidays..I noticed how sickly Benjamin Hendrickson was starting to look and was concerned that maybe he had cancer or something..I wasn't aware that he was depressed over the loss of his mother...I can understand how he must have felt..my Dad died just this last October..it's sad to see how my Mom misses him as she did spend the most time with him....my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family...as for the person who used the term "pussy"...you should have never been allowed to have your opinion posted...there is enough ugliness and meaness in the world....
