The "rape" episode..

While certainly jarring and shocking for TV, it isn't the 1st time a so called 'mock rape' has been portrayed. Also according to some couples this kind of experience is shared from time to time to spice things up. In the cinema, movies like 'A History Of Violence' portrayed this very effectivaly, and even Clint Eastwood's 'High Plains Drifter' many years ago. It's the kind of thing couples who enjoy sex on the edge enjoy, but it's easy to see how some womans rights groups and anti rape groups would have a problem with it. For me, it was simply great television.

I'm getting really tired of the "I don't watch this show, but I'm going to comment on it" articles on this site.

Um... I watch more TV than most (and at the least read more about what is on that most...) and I have heard of this show. Is it on Bravo or something?

What is it with people "reporting" on shows they don't watch on this thing? It can't be that hard to shuffle this stuff.

According to the standard definition, yes it was rape. He forced himself on her, she fought back. Eventually she just gave in and in the end, really didn't seem to have a problem with it. A lot of people are offended by it, but it's Tommy and Janet. It was in character, and well, I don't think either of them would have acted the way they did if it was anyone else. (Tommy would not have raped any woman but Janet, and Janet would not have accepted it the way she did if it was anyone but Tommy. Their relationship is screwed up like that.)
