Phineas and Ferb hit the Disney Channel next year

by Adam Finley, posted Jul 15th 2006 8:58AM
disney channelFamily Guy director Dan Povenmire has created a new children's series for the Disney Channel titled Phineas and Ferb. The new series, which is currently in production and will debut next year tells the story of two step-brothers, the energetic and talkative Phineas, and Ferb, who mostly remains silent. They also have a pet platypus who works as an undercover agent, though neither of the brothers are aware of that. The two spend their summer creating inventions and building insane things, such as the world's largest popsicle. Vincent Martella, who plays Greg on Everybody Hates Chris, will provide the voice of Phineas. Perry the Platypus will be voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voices Klaus the goldfish on American Dad.

Vincent Martella who plays Greg on Everybody Hates Chris is great!! My kids have followed him from Ned'sDeclassified when he was Scoop. He is a true talent. Phineas will be great with him. Vincent can sing and act. Go to his site: www.vincentmartella.com.

Teen choice nominee too. Phineas will be a huge hit!!

I'm interested to see how this turns out- not because Mr. Povenmire is an alumnus of Family Guy, which doesn't really mean much (I mean, come on- it's written by Manatees!), but because Mr. Povenmire is one of the many successful alumnus of Rocko's Modern Life.

If you've ever noticed a link between Spongebob Squarepants and Rocko's Modern Life, that's because they're essentially the same show, created by the same exact people and featuring the same exact voice talent. Dan Povenmire was a big part of the show, and it's nice to see him taking a shot at his own show.
