Stargate SG-1: Flesh and Blood (season premiere)

(S10E01) This season's premier of SG-1 felt like the first half of a two hour episode. My Tivo's description has it dead on. "The team struggles to reunite after an Ori defeat." That's pretty much the entire episode. I'll get some grief because I'm going to be complaining about some details on this one. If you're a fan of the show, you'll still enjoyed watching it.
Alright, I still enjoyed it. What can I say, SG-1 is just likable. If they could only manage to quit contriving the plot so much. But first, Vala finally gives birth to her freaky baby. Since I'd read about Morena Baccarin joining the cast, I sorta figured that Vala's kid was going to be another one of these super quick aging kids. The girl grows up pretty fast, but we don't get to see the oh so lovely Morena just yet. Watching Vala and her evil daughter argue back and forth is intriguing. That relationship could get very interesting.
Sam is drifting through space and Mitchell is waking up with a classic bloodied face. Here's were I get irritated. The remaining earth cruiser pulls up and Mitchell apparently flies aboard, leaving Sam floating around in space. So... Why the heck didn't he pull up next to her with his X302 and tow her back to the ship? We're treated to a prolonged session of nattering about the beaming system being broken, finished up with a dramatic, but slightly retarded session of flying the biggest ship they've got over to pick her up. However, I have to admit that the seeing the giant ship bear down on Sam was pretty cool.
As expected Teal'c and Bra'tac run off on a suicide mission to attack the Ori. Of course, Sam and Mitchell run off with them. Now that everyone is converging to the appropriate planet, we're back to Daniel. The episode feels off track up until Daniel gets back with Vala. We finally get a bit of good chemistry with these two. They get into their little groove and the episode comes to life.
The final bit sorta bugs me. We've had other episodes where people are completely unprepared to be beamed. To make the save work, Daniel somehow knows he's being beamed and actually has time to grab hold of Vala. All the little plot holes just irked me throughout the episode, but the finish came together nicely.
