What does Rachael Ray know about relationships?

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 17th 2006 6:13PM
Rachael RayJust saw a news crawl on CNN about Rachael Ray's new syndicated talk show, which will premiere across the country on September 18. It said that Ray's show will feature "can do advice" about cooking, travel, and...relationships?

Oh, great. Dr. Phil with a spatula.

Seriously, do we need yet another talk show that gets into the relationships and personal lives of the guests? Is Rachael Ray going to show a woman in the audience how to make BLTs and then ask her, "so, were you abused as a child?" I mean, Rachael...why can't you stick with your strengths, which is making food in the kitchen that all of us can do, giving us travel tips we can use, and having some fun? Why drag relationships into the show's mix?

I still haven't seen any evidence that this is going to be the "different" daytime show that the ads have been touting.

I don't understand the appeal or attraction to this woman. Are the networks so void of real talent that they will accept with open arms this mediocre rubbish and call it entertainment? Wait...they have already proven that several times. It is well established that her "cutesy-wutesy, look at me, aren't I adorable" incessant smile (insincere as it is) coupled with her sanity grating voice drives some folk to consider slitting their wrists with a rusty razor as a quick way out. Seriously, if you wanted or needed advice or some observational comments on your personal relationships, does Rachel Ray really come to mind?
If so, there may be medications out there for you.
Ask your doctor if Prozak is right for you.
She seems inexperienced and immature, catapulted into a sudden celebrity that she ultimately will not handle well. The nauseated public will get it's fill quite soon and she'll be back to chopping "yummo" mushrooms and annoying chefs all over the country in her Food TV Network exploits. Somehow, getting Rachel's advice on relationships is like asking a dolphin for bicycling tips. God, please help us all.

"AND BY THE WAY, IT'S "RACHEL" NOT "RACHAEL". MY NAME'S RACHEL AND I HATE WHEN PEOPLE PUT THAT "A" IN THERE. LOOKS RIDICULOUS. LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD SOUND LIKE "RACHAYLE" OR SOMETHING."

Her name really is Rachael Ray.

"4. LOL! She can't do anything - including cooking properly. Her shows are filled with cross contamination and unhealthy cooking."

YEA, HAVE YOU NOTICED HOW SHE'S NOT CLEANING THE FOOD PROPERLY BEFORE COOKING IT? ESPECIALLY THE MEAT. SHE JUST TAKES CHICKEN OR SOME OTHER MEAT RIGHT OUT OF ITS PACKAGE AND COOKS IT, OR PLACES IT ON THE CUTTING BOARD OR WHATEVER AND CUTS IT WITH THE KNIFE WITHOUT CLEANING THE DARN THING IN THE SINK FIRST!

RACHAEL, I KNOW YOU'RE TRYING TO CUT TIME, BUT IF YOU THINK PEOPLE DON'T NOTICE THAT, YOU'RE WRONG.

AND WAHT'S WITH THE EVOO IN THE COOKING ALL THE TIME? THAT'S FATTENING. WOMAN, THAT MUCH EVOO IS NOT HEALTHY IF YOU'RE COOKING IT! THE ONLY WAY EVOO IS HEALTHY IS IF YOU MAINTAIN IT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND PUT IT IN THE FOOD AFTER YOU'VE FINISHED COOKING. NOT DURING. OTHERWISE, THE HEAT IS GOING TO KILL WHATEVER HEALTH PROPERTIES EVOO HAS. GAWD...

AND WHEN SHE INTERVIEWS CELEBRITIES, HAVE YOU NOTICED HOW SHE SMILES AND LAUGHS WAY, WAY TOO MUCH! ONE DAY HER FACE WILL END UP LOOKING LIKE JACK NICHOLSON'S CHARACTER (THE "JOKER"?) IN THAT BATMAN MOVIE, WITH A HUGE UGLY WIDE RED SMILE STUCK ON HER FACE.

THE ONLY THING I LIKE ABOUT HER IS HER FIGURE. I THINK SHE HAS A REAL WOMAN'S FIGURE AND SHE'S PERFECT IN THAT WAY. NOT TOO UNREALISTICALLY SKINNY NOR FAT.

AND BY THE WAY, IT'S "RACHEL" NOT "RACHAEL". MY NAME'S RACHEL AND I HATE WHEN PEOPLE PUT THAT "A" IN THERE. LOOKS RIDICULOUS. LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD SOUND LIKE "RACHAYLE" OR SOMETHING.

AND IS "RAY" REALLY HER LAST NAME?

Enough is enough!! This woman has already turned the Food Network into a place of worship, and it's getting very old. When is it going to end?? A talk show is the LAST thing Rachael Ray needs. She's just plain annoying and the sound of her voice is vile. Overexposure is what is going to kill her, and I can't wait! I am so sick of seeing her everywhere. GO AWAY RACHAEL!! YOU'RE A PHONEY AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT!!!

Who the hell is she to give relationship advice? She's married to a man who might as well be dating Boy George. Just look at the emasculating, tyrannical, cheap-skate he's married to! And I am truly sorry to everyone, as apparently Raytard believes that everyone is her friend and peer. Well, this is one "peer" who won't be lifting so much as a finger to tune into this rapidly disintegrating, spiraling-out-of-control, TRAINWRECK of a human and the horribly under-qualified advice she'll be doling out to poor, unsuspecting, sheep-like souls.

Is her show being produced by Oprah's company. If it is that is all RR needs. Oprah's cult will be there to watch as they were for Dr. Phil no matter how pointless the show is.

RachA(what is that extra "a" about, anyway?)el is the most annoying personality on tv. Ok, enough of her on a specialty cable channel, but network talk show? She will wear thin because she is as phoney as a three dollar bill. Too perky and talks like a tennie wanna be. Sad, sad day when the likes of her are getting their own show. Get ready to crash and burn.

She would be the last person that I would look to for advice. She can't cook worth a damn, according to various articles, she's rude in public to restaurant staff, and what qualications does she have to dole out relationship advice? She barely has qualifications to teach people to cook. She just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and will come crashing down one day soon. Mark my words.
