Big Brother: Veto Ceremony #2

by Deidre Woollard, posted Jul 19th 2006 7:01AM
big brother all stars(S04E05) Diane and Nakomis have very different strategies for dealing with nomination. Diane weeps and says that most people in the house have jobs and lives but that she has nothing. Nakomis dyes her hair orange and yellow. Which is the better strategy? I have no idea but I prefer the way Nakomis handles things.

As predicted, the SeaSick alliance is frustrated by Kaysar's move to not nominate Chilltown. Janelle calls him a pansy and James just seems flabbergasted since it's common knowledge that Will and Boogie don't exactly keep deals.

Tonight's filler piece involves Marcellas and Janelle spinning soap opera moments based on everyone's personalities. It's also Boogie's birthday which means that Erika gets all dolled up with "Happy Birthday" on her thigh. There is also sushi and chocolate cake but not for the slop-eaters who lost the challenge. The slop-eaters are miserable. This time the food restriction seems to be doing what it is supposed to, create dissenion in the ranks.

The veto wheel delivers Will, Erika and James to play for veto along with Kaysar, Nakomis and Diane. The challenge is a mini-golf style challenge. Erika is the winner and after the Chilltown birthday bash there is a hot tub party which leads to Will and Boogie calling Kaysar downstairs for a chat. Basically Will uses the situation to call Kaysar out for nominating Diane and Nokomis and eventually volunteers himself for elimination. It's such an obvious strategy to try and gain favor and target the SeaSick alliance. It does give the Erika the chance to call his bluff. Will she?

Oh, no, she decides not to change the nominations. As Diane says, no one has the guts to use a veto. Will is completely disgusted and who was rubbing his neck while he vented, Howie?

I've been checking out Jackie's summary of the live feeds. It does seem that while Will gets the camera time it might be Boogie that's running Chilltown just as Janelle is the brains behind Season Six. It's too close to call who gets voted out this week. I don't think either main alliance is too invested in either player, it's more of a chance to win favor for some of the less powerful players by voting in line with certain alliances. Diane's emotional nature may work against her and if I had to choose I think that Nakomis is the more interesting player of the two.

I'm guessing that Diane may be safe. Boogie likes her and will try to keep her in. Will may think she is a distraction to Boogie, but then again, she would be a lot easier to manipulate than Nakomis.

All I know is that Janelle needs to go as soon as possible before she wins everything. Howie needs to go also because he is a real pain in the butt & such a jerk. I was hoping he wouldn't make it into the all-stars. I am very glad that "Cowboy" didn't make it. Too much country bumpkin for me, ya all...Moe

Diane and Kaysar are still playing true to form. She was a whiner last time and it seems like she hasn't changed. Last season, we had Evette whining all of the time and Diane just took her place. Sorry, Diane, the tears don't cut it with me. If it's so horrible, just leave. we won't miss ya! As for Kaysar, you would think he would have learned his lesson last time. He took someone at their word and was voted out. I have to agree with Janelle, in the fact that he is scared of Will and Boogie. I just don't believe it was strategic. I'd like to see someone with enough guts to get rid of Mr Ego (Will) and his partner in crime (Boogie).

Erika is not a tramp. I heard she had a boyfriend for a really long time and just recently broke up with him.

As for her being a coward, no! Is it because she didn't use the power of veto? I know I wouldn't have used it if I was her. She's smart. She's in a good place with Kaysar and she doesn't want to endanger that by changing his nominations. She's also in a good place with the other people and her using the veto would endanger THEM. Face it, Erika is on no one's immediate target right now and that's a GOOD PLACE to be.

I like Nakomis. It appears that her strategy is to play of the 'different' angle, in hopes that she will be kept on as the 'also ran' down the road. It worked before...we'll see.

I loved her in her season--very cunning--so I hope she stays around.

I still can't believe Kaysar took Boogie and Will's word. James said it perfect when he said that Kaysar just alienated two people, Diane and Nakomis, by nominating them and insuring the one who stays will join with Chilltown to dump the sixers.

Whether it's Will or Boogie as the brains, whoever it is is playing it brilliantly. Sure they could nominate Kaysar if either wins this week, but Will said he will keep him around a week or two and instead nominate another sixer, most likely Janelle or Howie, since they are close to Kaysar. The Sixers are already pissed that Kaysar seems to have made a deal to save himself and leave them vulnerable. If one of them get voted off you will see the others start to make deals themselves. Brilliant.

The bright side about Kaysar's strategy--if you can call it that--is that it will keep the "exciting to watch" players in the house. The house isn't half as interesting without Dr. Will and his botox. I can't help but think that the producers have had a hand in making Kaysar think that the game is better with more power players at the end and that he is on the side of good. Having more power players at the end can't hurt the ratings.
