Eric Bogosian joins Law and Order: CI

Eric BogosianWriter and actor Eric Bogosian is joining the cast of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. He'll take over for Jamey Sheridan (who is leaving the show) as the police captain.

Bogosian is an acclaimed playwright, most famous for Talk Radio (the play and the movie), plus the plays Drinking In America, Suburbia, and Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll. Besides roles in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Ararat, and Blade: Trinity, Bogosian played the bad guy in Under Siege 2 and the nasty record exec in the short-lived Love Monkey earlier this year.

This could be an interesting casting choice. Bogosian is always good for a quirky performance, and maybe he'll spice up his own dialogue a bit.

Kathy Erbe was glad to get a break, ( re interview with her), she said she wanted more Mother time to her children. So it suited both Kathy and Vincent, their pay cheques arent half bad from what they have said before either. Its better to have half the episodes with them, than none at all. CI wouldnt exist without Goren/Eames characters. The new captain sounds like season 6 could be good watching too. jmho

In regards to Donofrio splitting time with Noth, seems like Kathryn Erbe got the raw end of the deal.

Instead of her working a full season, she only works 11-12 epsiodes per season and thus, gets paid less.
Doesn't seem fair to me.

Ooh inspired! Should be fabulous. Not your standard actor at all, I love this. CI is my favourite L&O and this should really add something. I hope he is writing and/or improvising which would be great.

bd yes the 1/2 - 1/2 switch is happening again. I agree that D'Onofrio deserves better (the best actor on TV IMHO) but the fact is this was HIS choice when it started last year. He didn't want to work to do 22-24 eps so they did this to satisfy him to keep him on the show.

I'm also a huge fan of D'onofrio but from what i understand Noth was brought in to relieve D'onofrio who was suffering from exhaustion and fainting spells.

Any word on if they're going to keep the horrible Chris Noth/VD'O switching off thing? D'onofrio doesn't need this!
