Clay Aiken's third album due in September

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 5th 2006 1:10PM

Clay AikenDo they even call them albums anymore? CDs?

American Idol champ runner-up Clay Aiken's third album, A Thousand Different Ways, will be a bunch of classic cover tunes. He'll sing everything from Elton John's "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" to Mr. Mister's "Broken Wings." Throw in a Dolly Parton song and a bunch of others and you have quite a collection. He'll also have four new songs on the album (CD!)

Um...by the way, is it me or is Clay beginning to look an awful lot like K.D. Lang?

Why don't you spend more time on the journalizing the god given talent that this man has been given instead of talking about his hair. Haven't you ever tried something new?

Clay's new cd will blow everything else away and no one should really give a crap what you think about his hair!! I'm sure you wish you were making his money!! Ugh - too bad!

Where's your photo, BOB, so we can make some stupid comparison to you. Clay is totally HOT--new look is a big change, but totally "in". He's a totally gorgeous man with the best voice on the planet. What's the matter, Bobby, girlfriend like Clay a little too much? Oh, don't be jealous -- just learn from Clay....he's what women want!

I don't get the reference to looking like kd lang. I don't remember her ever having this hair style, or is this just a put down? Are you too afraid to say that Clay's hairstyle looks like the old Beatles style? Also get with the program....kd lang does not capitalize her name.

I forgot to add that I too thought Ruben saying he didn't care that he and Clay had albums coming out at the same time was great - he and Clay are friends and they are both nice people with good voices, and I have always bought one of Ruben's at the same time as he is a great guy with a very mellow voice!! Nice to see people who are friends sticking up for each other and they both do this all the time!!

Clay has an exceptionally great voice - and is a good person who does alot of good for other people so there is no need to diss him it just makes you look small. If you like his music, buy his CD, if you don't buy someone elses. There all kinds of singers out there so keep your mud slinging to yourself! I personally love his new look - try not to be jealous - you don't have to have your hair done that way if you don't like it - there are many different hair styles!! I hope he sells a million CDs! What I'm trying to say, we all are entitled to our own opinions, and we all don't like the same things - but we sure don't need to be mean about it, there is enough of that already in this world!!

Last I saw k.d.lang, she was sporting a brush cut, of sorts....but aside from that minor detail, she is a superstar with a tremendous voice so I guess, if you overlook Clay's updated yummy hair style that's no where nears that of k.d.'s, yes, Clay's just like her...a superstar with a tremendous voice. (Nice to be compared to a famous Canadian, eh Clay?? And...nice of you to sing songs by Bryan Adams and Celine Dion..more ultra famous Canadians. Keep them coming, guy..we'll love every one of them)

Re: No. 17..Sharon...before you insult Bob Sassone so thoroughly, better reread your own post...certainly no creativity there, either...and definitely isn't ladylike. Ruben has already commented in the press that he won't insult Clay or get into a ratings war with him because.....'He's cool! He's my friend.' I hope every Clay fan who buys Clay's new CD and helps him go triple platinum also buys one of Ruben's and puts him at triple platinum, too. He's a wonderful fellow who really deserves much better fans than the ones he's gotten stuck with. Go Clay! Go Ruben!

This CD is dreary. Clay has been ruined enough by the gay scandal, ruined enough by his crazy loony Claymates fans who buy CDs in multiples.

What Clay needs in light of the above is a kick-ass CD of new material, ballad or not.

The songs he picked for this CD are in very bad taste. The song list is so tacky that only his rabid Claymates fans who buy anything he records would love the CD of cheesy love songs.

Put a sash on him and a crown for King of MacCheese.

This CD was hastily put together and judging from samples at Promosquad, the production was poor and cheap.

It's a shame. He has a decent voice. This concept is just a BAD IDEA for a sophomore CD.
