Two A-holes flip a house

by Anna Johns, posted Aug 7th 2006 8:51PM
flip this houseDoes anybody else want to reach into the television and choke Armando Montelongo? His family business, Montelongo House Buyers, has been featured on two episodes of A&E's Flip This House. He totally reminds me of the Two A-Holes sketch on SNL. He constantly degrades his wife and sister-in-law. He made them dress up in beekeeper outfits and exterminate a colony of bees so he could save $300 on a professional beekeeper. While they were running around choking on bug spray, he was drinking a beer and watching the action. When his sister-in-law proposed a website, he filled out a form she gave him, giving her a $0 budget. She made an ass of herself, calling around website companies and asking them to do it for free. He makes his wife negotiate her own pay for selling his houses. (What is wrong with these women?) He treats the labor like dirt, brings a big dog to intimidate a new contractor, and micro-manages foundation and drywall issues of which he has no knowledge. Please, television gods, don't let this guy get his own show.

This NJ married couple have only become fans of the show BECAUSE of the Montelongos. We tried it in the past and found it BORING. Now it's entertaining and educational. They are turning those houses into sensational finished flips. We want them to stay on the air, and hope they do the 26 episode thing.
We also like Sam's Atlanta crew.

Armando Montelongo is a real punk! Anyone who thinks this guy is an intelligent Real Estate Investor doesn't know what ethics and professionalism are all about! He's an idiot!!!!

I thought when A&E announced a new season it would be with the SC crew. When they brought in the SA and Atlanta group I was ticked off. Can't stand either of them.

Glad to hear the SC crew will be returning on another channel. It's A&E's loss. I will be watching for the next airing of Flip This House with Richard & Ginger. Love Ginger's dog, Jack.

I actually like watching the new season of Flip this House, I dont think Armando is a jerk (well maybe a little) but he is a business man first and foremost. Have any of you people actually worked with a spouse or close friend and had to be the boss or supervisor? Its about getting the job done, not walking on eggshells just so you dont hurt feelings. Im also sure that A&E adds a little script to the show also, making it for more enjoyable tv. In the end results I love how they transform the homes. I do miss Ginger and Richard though and hope to see them soon. But while I'll wait, I'll be tuning into the San Antonio season for sure.

HOW AWFUL! We actually had a collison of sorts as three family members DOVE for the remote when the new and SUBSTANDARD "Flip This Crap" came on the screen...we couldn't change the channel fast enough. What is A&E thinking , taking aproven winner and gutting it? This new version of the show STNKS !!!

Sorry Montelongo fans, the people are NOT being haters (or jealous, or "liberals"). They, like me, are NOT happy about the fact that a good show was tinkered with. I was a fan of the Trademark team. While they were not Politically Correct, it was interesting and entertaining. Keeping an open mind, I also watched the Montolongo team episode and was NOT impressed.

Speaking from a minority point of view, I too would prefer Ginger and Richard over the other two shows. Richard was never condescending to his workers, and they all treated each other with respect. The show highlighted thorough routines of getting the job done crispy and to a tee, whereas a lot of the jobs with the new shows are cookie cutter and incomplete. I like the teamwork and partnership with the trademark crew...the only thing that I am skeptical about is why there was never any more ethnic cast members/team members. There should be at least one or two especially given the world we live in. I would be completely sold on a little openess to that. Other than that, I feel that Richard and the crew should have been given the respect they deserved on A&E, and I would have much preferred to watch the other two shows ONE time on TLC's Flip THAT House and be done with it. Maybe Richard could employ Lamont from the Atlanta show...Leccima deserves to lose him. He should treat him with more respect.

I personally am enjoying A&E's 'Flip this House' featuring the Montelongos! I love the ladies...they are fun to watch and the guys are the new JR's. They are inspiring to watch. True, they are coarse, but they are also talented and determined individuals. I hope A & E will air many more episodes of the Montelongos. Keep up the good work.

Most importantly, who would buy ANYTHING from these clowns? Please tell me their business in San Antonio is drying up like a turd in the Texas heat.
The "improvements" they make are substandard, have no design sense, and most likely break, rot, or die in the first year. A Montelongo buyer would have to scrape the house and start over. May we please see ethical people from whom to learn?

This guys...especially Armando is an a$$hole!
He's so full of himself! And those women need a serious reality check. They both seem a little ditz and not self assured or assertive enough to make it anywhere but on TV.

Question is though is it helping or hurting their ratings?!?
