Rock Star: Supernova: Week 6 Performances

dave and tommy(S02E11) Before the competitions begin we learn that no one in the house except Dilana wanted to play with Gilby this week. Dave has strong words about that and with good reason. Why wouldn't you want to play with the guy in the band you are supposed to be auditioning for?

Dilana, Won't Get Fooled Again--Gilby's no Slash but hey who is and he and Dilana make a pretty hot combo. Dilana's smart enough not to grind on Gilby's thigh like Jill did but she does sing with him and delivers a powerful and energized performance.

Jill, Mother, Mother -- Now I love this song, especially since it was written by a friend of a friend of mine, but Jill doesn't quite do it justice. Miss Jill needs to be pretty at all times. This is not a pretty song.

Ryan, Paint It Black -- Well, this new. He does this strange Goth performance. I'm not a fan but I admire his willingness to try and step out of his own box. I don't admire his self-congratulatory smirking though. Tommy doesn't seem to be a fan of the performance but Dave sure is.

Storm, We Are The Champions -- She's got a good voice and she's so very pretty but I still say she's too theatrical. Tone down the lipgloss and ramp up the angst.

Zayra, All The Young Dudes -- She can't really sing but she certainly fills out a gold spandex jumpsuit quite nicely. Turn down the sound and just enjoy the spectacle.

Josh, Interstate Love Song -- Tommy Lee plays drums. It's nice to see Josh turn it up a bit. This song is a nice fit for the smiley guy.

Magni, The Dolphin's Cry -- Well, he certainly looks a lot like the front man in Live and he does a pretty decent version of this song.

Patrice, Instant Karma -- Whoa, a speed-up version. She's cute and she's practiced but I still say she might be going home soon. She's too boring.

Luka, Creep -- A very slow ballad version of this delicious song. He's in fine voice and face. Swoon.

Toby, Burning Down The House -- I'm with Dave, he had me until he brought out the megaphone. He needed to do something innovative but that seemed an ill-informed choice.

My bottom three are Patrice, Jill and Zayra right in line with the voting.

I think Zarya is around for pure amusement, however, her performance last night was her best. That's sad. No doubt, Dilana is the best. She is heads and shoulders above the rest. She can sing anything and still make it rock. Last night's performance of Cat's in the Cradle was solid proof of that. She missed a few words, but that's no big deal compared to her immense talent and suitability for the band. Still....will the boys let a girl play in the sand box with them? BTW....Lukas looks like a bug and is arrogant and short.

how in god's name did some of these characters get onto this show in the first place? ZYARA is just a joke....maybe she's looking for a Playboy spot or something, cuz she sure cannot sing a note.....

My husband walked by last night while I was watching Rockstar, and asked "What's C3-PO doing on TV?" Yes, you guessed it... during Zayra's performance...

Woah, wait a second....

Zayra sang "All The Young Dudes?" I missed the introduction with song name on the show last night, but.... I kept waiting for SuperNova to comment on how she butchered the classic Beatles' song "Hey, Jude."

Lucas is a dead ringer for Betty Boop. I don't care what anyone says!

I have loved zayra since the first episode. I'll agree she isn't supernova material, but dang it takes a lot of personality to light up a tv screen and she does it, every freakin week. there are a couple that always do(dilana, storm well lukas usually) and some (patrice, jill, and josh) that I'll never ever remember or care who they are once they are gone. Why is Lukas' arrogance interesting, but patrices' female version of it grating on the nerves?

I agree with the Tommy, I want Storm to kick it up again. I like her performances but thought last night was weak.

I enjoyed Dilana and Toby last night. I'm not a fan of Lucas but that was probably one of his best performances. Ryan was a one hit wonder for me and that was last week.

I agree... Patrice, Lisa and Zayra should leave now. But Zayra is interesting and gives a heck of a show even if you don't always recognize the song. I'm all for keeping her around as long as there is weaker performers around.

The competition continues to be Dilana's to lose, especially after SN comments last night that they can now see a woman fronting the band. A great job and good work with Gilby.

I liked Magni last night. A lot. I thought his solo work was electric, powerful, and emotive.

I have bought a set of ear plugs for all of the big Z's performances. It makes life bearable.
