Brotherhood: Samyutta 11:10
(S01E06) Samyutta 11:10* The line separating the bad guys and the worse guys gets further obliterated this week. Caffe brother Michael does a favor that taints those involved. Poor brother Tommy, meanwhile, already torn up inside after having to ask his father-in-law for help last week, now has his lovely mother Rose rub his nose in it at the weekly family dinner. Just when was almost beginning to sympathize with her. Never again, she's foul.Eileen dresses her down, before skipping off to the john to snort coke. Maybe she should have just kept those shoes. Eileen's oldest daughter Mary Rose finds one of her Mom's joints, and starts holding her in contempt. She looks to be the next one the Michael will draw into his expanding net, when he catches her smoking pot herself, and seems to take more a direct interest in her than her parents have been shown to take, so far. This episode was another strong one for Annabeth Gish (Eileen). At forty-five minutes, it ran shorter than most, and, to great effect, focused more intently on Eileen and Tommy's marriage -- which continues to hurl toward crisis.
*(A Samyutta is a chapter of a Buddhist text, but every search I made for "Samyutta Book 11 chapter 10, or the like, just brings up links to this episode of Brotherhood. If anyone out their knows the text of a passage this might refer to, maybe you can post it in comments.)
