Midnight Money Madness coming to TBS

by Adam Finley, posted Aug 16th 2006 12:03PM
moneyWe've all been there. It's late at night, and you're totally wired and all you want to do is watch something on television that you normally wouldn't find entertaining, but at this particular moment your brain is just slightly out to lunch so it's willing to view something below your usual acceptance level. TBS apparently hopes to tap into the bored insomniac market with a new viewer participation game show called Midnight Money Madness, which kicks off at midnight (natch) on August 28. The show will have two versions, one East coast and one West coast, and will allow the people at home to play the games by calling in, or text messaging, or whatever. There will also be occasional comedians and man-on-the street segments. That doesn't sound even remotely interesting to me, but that's because it's only early evening as I type this. Tonight when I'm still awake and bored with watching Betty Boop cartoons on my video iPod, the show may actually be the only thing saving me from absolute boredom. This is either a really dumb idea or an ingenious one, I haven't figured out which.

I cannot believe I wasn't the only idiot screaming at the friggin TV in the middle of the night. Now I know why they put this stupid show on at midnight or later. Who ever came up with this show could really have something, if they weren't trying to scam people. Who in their right minds, want to dial a (900) number? I have always blocked(900) numbers on my phone service since getting a bill for $990.00 many years ago for some sports calls, and I hate sports. I love soaps, but would not spend any money by way of (900) numbers to get information about anything. Yet, this program has either a (900) number for you to call, or a text message number that doesn't work either. TBS, I am very ashamed of you for allowing this type of behavior to happen to your loyal viewers. We deserve better than that. If this show is going to be a hit, get some (800) numbers for people to call in on. POO on YOU TBS!

If you people actually listened to the instructions, it said not to call 900 numbers from the CELL PHONE; only from a land line. If you were on a CELL PHONE then you should TEXT them. wow, it never ceases to amaze me how ppl don't follow the directions, don't win and then complain that it was fixed. Spoiled a little aren't you? I've not only gotten called back, but made it thru to the second round 3 times, while a local friend of mine actually got on the show and missed the question. You'd be suprised at what following the directions and not giving up will accomplish. It's NOT fixed. You're just bitter.

OMFG these comments are the funniest thing I have ever read. You people are complete idiots. Basically this is just like a lottery. You're paying for a chance to win. I love all the comments from you morons who think you got screwed. Why don't you go try to get your money back from the state lottery for all those non-winning tickets you bought? Do you seriously think you're the only person in the country that knows the answer to these retarded questions?

The funniest is when the people actually get through, and then they get the question wrong. Now that's entertainment. These are the easiest and stupidest questions ever!

I seen the show last week for the first time and thought about trying to get throught but, I just watched it until last night. I called about five times to try and get through but, everytime it would say " If your selected you will be called back within 30 seconds. I never got a call back. I am new to this so I was charged .99 for every call or is that if you get through to actually talk to host?

I have the same problem as everyone else, why use a 900? I didnot realize my service doesnot allow usage of these 900 numbers. Please change it so everyone can be involved fairly. Are you coming back on the air after tomorrow?

Thank you,
Vanessa S.

I've been watching M.M.M. since about the 2nd week & playing from about the 3rd week. So let me tell all you weak-ars-haters, that persistence pays, in fact it payed me $400.00 about a week ago, the night Ant was guest hosting,(Celebrity fit club-Yea!Yea!).I correctly answered the mystery photo (Burt Reynolds). That's right it is I, Mr.Confident, lucky square #13,"WINNER". So all U all crying SCAM can stick it with your spam and scram. Oh and another thing the word/name bimbo and Jerilee are not synonymous with one another. So grab a dictionary and go buy a vowel. Later to the Hater!

I think this show is soooooooooo a waste of time and full of sh#t. and then to top it all off, you have this dumb, no dressing, BADLY SPEAKING Brit female, that acts totally clueless to the whole show, and half of the time you can't understand a dam thing she is TRYING to say. Boy, Simon Calwell really made you tv producers BELIEVE that if one talks with a accent, you should make them famous ( ie, so you think you can dance). Come on people, enough already. tv is only as good as the host or hostess, and in this case the lady SUCKS, BIGGG TYME. Nice of you all to come up with a show and lie right on live tv, atlease the show proclaims to be live. I would be willin to bet, that since it is so hard for REAL people to contact your show, thoes people that do make it through to your show are probably paid actors or someone you all have calling in. stop lying and cheating the people, and make a HONEST living like the rest of us.

I think all you people who are leaving such mean comments really need to chill out. i think its a fun show because its unscripted and u never know how stupid its going to be but thats why its a funny show because its unpredictable and also real. The blonde british girl is really sweet and the whole show is kindof refreshing. Maybe you haters out there could look at it as that. I mean common? what else is there to watch at 2 in the morning? give them a break.

And for the record its not fake and not a scam because i got through.
