Rosie said something, world comes to an end

rosieThe New York Post is reporting, based on one of Rosie O'Donnell's recent faux-haiku blog postings, that she's unhappy she won't be in charge of The View when she joins the weekday yakfest on September 5. The Post quotes a snippet of this post, which reads:

i saw the new view promos

and found myself in the position

i loathe most

powerless

it will be hard 4 me

2 not b

the boss

it is already

and we have only just begun

Now, I'm not a master of sensationalism and making mountains of molehills, but it seems to me that all O'Donnell is saying is that for a very long time she's been in charge of whatever project she was involved with, whether it was her own talk show or producing failed Broadway shows for Boy George. Now she's in a position where she's no longer in charge, and that's a little weird for her. As far as I can tell, there's not really a story here, unless you want to explore why it is she insists on writing like a junior high school girl. Also, just as an aside, "it will be hard 4 me 2 not b the boss" would be a great Prince song.

ROSIE is BORING, first they dump BORINGSTARR,and now they foist BORINGROSIE on us. Thank God there's reruns on at that hour for us in LA. Now, dump UNFUNNYJOYBEHAR and they may have a show.

I'm ecstatic that Rosie is going to be on The View. Since I never have, and never will, watch that gossipfest it means less chance of me having to suffer through her mug on my TV screen.

I don't get it. I don't get why anyone likes, or has ever liked, Rosie. She's never been funny, said anything useful, or for that matter, even approaching intelligent. I mean, fits right in on The View, but I don't see what makes Rosie special. She has this whole deal going on where she seems to think she's saying something relevant as she connects the dots. Again, fits right in on The View, but seriously, who first looked at Rosie and said "Now SHE'LL go far"?

I saw the promo in question... She said she was kind of looking forward to it, but that it would be weird. I think that if it bothered her too much, she would have backed out during those months it must have taken to negotiate the contract. I'm sure she just means that it's an adjustment.
