Kyle XY: Overheard

by Michael Canfield, posted Aug 22nd 2006 12:30AM
Kyle XY(S01E09) Kyle and the rest get a little closer to the mystery of his origins, and the tension ramps up here in the final episode before the season finale.

Last week we left off in a secret underground lair, where evil agents of "the company", are surprised to discover that the "subject" (Kyle) they had believed terminated two months ago, is still alive. Kyle's torn between his curiosity and of heeding Foss' s advice to keep what little he knows of his past secret in order to protect his foster family, the Tragers. His feigned new lack of curiosity in his origins leads his foster Mom and therapist, Nicole, to fear he is regressing, and is beyond her help.

Josh Trager bounces back and forth, thinking that everyone is talking about him: first the girl he likes, and then his parents. He keeps trying to tap Kyle's superpowers to help him out, attempting to turn Kyle into his own personal superboy. Actually, Kyle doesn't have super hearing, but he has discovered that when he concentrates he can focus in on a distant sound. It's all brain power, and he spends most of this episode applying it in various situations -- but at a cost. Meanwhile, Lori's Dad, Stephen Trager, keeps giving her grief about bad-boy Declan, and she tells him to trust her -- even if he can't quite trust Declan. Foss keeps working behind the scenes to protect Kyle, still looking evil as he lurks about, though, as we learned last week, he's been one of the good guys all along. Kyle and Declan sneak into Foss's apartment and find the screens he's been using to spy on and keep tabs on Kyle and everyone surrounding him. What Declan observes on the screens freaks him out, seems there's been a slight misunderstanding about which of the girls on the show he actually likes.

After busting into Foss's place, Klye and Declan casually head off to the carnival. Lori and Josh end up there too, as does Foss and the new agent assigned to terminate Kyle. But before the showdown, Kyle finally has a chance to be alone with Amanda on a carousel. Long story short, Kyle's learns a little more and collapses. The disruption thwarts the assassination attempt. At the hospital, Kyle's MRI seems to reveals that he's perfectly normal -- but the company had gotten to the doctor first and suppressed the actual results. Anyway, for a cliffhanger this week, the company has come up with a whole new tack and how to get ahold of Kyle. LOTS of ground to cover in the finale. It'll be interesting to see how much they reveal, and how much they'll make us wait till next summer for.

Amanda's mom doesn't like Kyle because Kyle took the blame for damaging Amanda's Car when she ran into something after seeing Kyle jump off the roof.

i also found tears in my eyes at the idea of kyle leaving the tragers and i'm incredibly excited at what adam baylin is going to show him.
weird, but i thought he was adam baylin found once again. i'm wondering if kyle is a cloned android of some sort.
and when do you suppose amanda will discover her beau is a dweeb? that will be interesting. but i have a question. why does amanda's mom hate kyle so much? just because he walked in their house when he heard amanda play the piano? isn't that lame to hold a grudge for so long?

im currently watching the final episode, and honestly, im not liking it. Im not too positive that those are his real parents, even though the blood test came back positive. And how could Kyle just leave like that. Wayy too soon!!!! I guess Im just really depressed that he didnt end up never finding his parents, and staying with the family that has been there for him through all the confusion. Im sooo sad!!! What a terrible episode!!!! Im soo sad! OMGosh!!!!!! Wait!!!! I knew it!!! I knew something wasnt right!!!!!!HAAA! What does this mean for Kyle????? WHAT??? He didnt exist??? NOOOO! OH MY GOODNESS! THAT WAS GOOD!! At least now i know that he wasnt being a complete jerk about that. i still feel aweful for the family though. Oh well, until next year.....

Bebop,

It means that Lori thought Declan was cheating on her, but he was instead out helping Kyle.
