Eureka: Dr. Nobel

First of all... Wow. Jo's friggin hot in that dress. (I can't say more, my wife might read this)

I guess Zoe's feeling a little intimidated by her fellow school kids. Pulling the fire alarm during her IQ test? Awesome. It's nice to see them pay some attention to that aspect of Zoe. I don't know if I feel sorry for her or jealous of getting exposed to that kind of education. Being surrounded by genius kids would have to be tough.

Stark's really getting fun. First he takes Fargo down to his new office - he obviously enjoyed that one. I LOVED it when he reverses track when Allison wants to stick Carter into the secret mind probe device. I think they're still trying to figure out Stark's character. I think he stalks around too much. He delivers some fun lines, but he's so serious they lose some impact.

The results of the memory probe were pretty interesting to watch. I'm a little surprised that it didn't go both ways. (If only the scientist would have made some little comment to Allison or Zoe.) We saw the kiss in the previews, but it still delivered; especially with the old lady's comment to Zoe just afterward.

On to my favorite parts. The old scientists walking down the hall to fix the machine just screamed Space Cowboys at me. The plaque in memory of the favorite test monkey was great. (I need one of those) Allison teasing Carter with the almost kiss... and zapping his brain with an experimental machine instead. Carter smashing the open Nobel prize case was classic.

My nitpick of the show: I guess the townsfolk have nothing better to do. If you pay attention to the clock, ol' Vincent was out starting at the death ray for something like 8 to 10 hours. Oh, and the lighting didn't change the whole time.

Dr. Nobel made for another fun episode of Eureka. I've found that I like it better when the plot and resolution really fills out as the show progresses, and this one really did the job. Since this ep was so serious - death ray/mind probe/Mutually Assured Destrucion - I really enjoyed the ending. A little rock and roll goes a long way towards balancing out the end of the world.

I have never been a scifi fan. The only show that has ever interested me is Star Trek because of family bonding, watched with my dad, all that type of thing. This is the type of show that actually gets the non-scifi fan to see what the sci-fi fan actually sees in these shows. It's funny, entertaining, and definitely has a little intellect thrown in. I like that sometimes i have to think about what the scientists are talking about to really understand. It just does a great job of interesting a wide variety of people with a great mix of scifi, great acting, and humorous story lines

I don't want to upset anyone here, but I think EUREKA has fallen off in quality from its premiere episode. I liked the two hour pilot, but the stories been bad since then. The chemistry between the actors is great...Colin Ferguson is very good. But I just don't think EUREKA is living up to the potential that the pilot showcased. This show may wind up an "also-ran", or it could become a "hanger-on" like THE 4400(which should have ended two seasons ago). I like the prospect of this series, but I just don't like the SHOW(yet).

I love the world created in Eureka. I love the sci-fi gadgets that they've created. I especially love the characters. I even love the premises of the episodes. Unfortunately, I can usually guess the entire plot of the episode 10 minutes into the show. With just a little extra push this could be one of the best shows on television today. Unfortunately, they fall a smidge short with their storylines and dialogue.

C'mon, Eureka, we know you can be better. Get some writers from The X-Files to help you out on the sci-fi, get writers from The Closer or Bones to perk up your procedural elements, and have your current writers watch more Boston Legal for the absurd humor elements.

One thing I learn in the Air Force. If a woman look good in a uniform, THEN SHE IS SMOKING HOT IN CIVILIAN CLOTHES!!

THIS RULE ALWAYS APPLYS!

I am really enjoying this show this summer. It's quirky, fun and entertaining as all get out.

I thought for a minute they were going to repeat themselves with a person crossing universes but it went in a totally different direction.

And you're right--Jo in the dress...major drool factor.

Another fun episode!! But you're right, I would've liked to see the old doc pick up some of Carters mannerisms and hit on Allison or something.

And WOWZA, Jo is fracking HAWT in that dress; carrying a piece no less. DAYUM!

Favorite moments:

When the old doc kicked the death ray machine thinking it was then off, and then the machine startd it's no last chance countdown and he turned around and asked, "Who cut the blue wire?!", and Henry just kinda bowed his head.

When Henry asked where the beam went after they knocked it off course, and we see a probe around Jupiter get annihilated. Funny as shit!
