Press Kits Unwrapped: FOX's Standoff

Press kits usually come in one of two ways: they're either a very basic press kit, just a folder with the show's logo on it, and some print press materials inside, maybe a few photos. And then there are the other ones, the press kits with really cool collectibles inside and/or an innovative packaging. The one for FOX's Standoff seems to be in the middle. It comes with the basic paperwork stapled together (no folder??), but also includes two neat collectibles.

The first one is a CNU LA hat. The CNU stands for the Crisis Negotiation Unit, the FBI's unit for hostage situations. Cool hat actually. I have a very large head and it's really hard to find hats that actually fit me. Even if they fit they just...don't look right. This one actually fits and the logo looks rather official, so I'll be wearing it.

The second goodie is a battery-operated bullhorn with the Standoff logo on it. It actually works, even if the battery instructions inside the battery case are wrong (the "+" and "-" graphics are accidentally switched). Comes with a wrist strap so you can hold on to it. Seems like a limited thing though, since your voice gets a little feedback if you have the volume up too much. But I'll take it outside and see how it sounds there. (Note: that's not me in the pic above, that's Keith's son. I'm short but not that short.)

So, if you're around my neighborhood, I'll be the guy in the CNU baseball cap and the tiny bullhorn, shopping for groceries, trying to negotiate a better price on apples.
